We recently connected with Calandra Martin and have shared our conversation below.
Calandra, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Growing up I was extremely self conscious, and always felt that I didn’t fit in. In middle school I was bullied often, and in high school I felt like a complete outcast. When I went off to college I lacked clarity and direction, ultimately dropping out after my first year. Then, my son was born when I was 22 and I simultaneously started my business knowing that going back to a regular 9-5 wasn’t an option for me.
Everything changed when I stepped into the entrepreneurial space. I always say that personal development and business development go hand in hand. Layering the life transforming experience of motherhood on top of that, I dove deep into the depths of uncovering who I truly was.
Two years into my online business journey I discovered the power of personal branding. I shared my experiences and lessons with my audience authentically, unfiltered, and imperfectly. I crafted a visual presence that actually felt like me, and didn’t dull my unique essence.
Once I crafted my personal brand I noticed a shift. I was getting better engagement on social media, I had more people reaching out to inquire about my services, and I even got invited to speak at local events for women in business. It was somewhere between 2-3 years into crafting my brand that I truly stepped into my confidence and unshakable self-esteem. I believe part of this was the blessing of motherhood, and part of it was building the muscle through getting uncomfortable in my journey of entrepreneurship.
Now I show up in my life and business with this delusional belief that I cannot fail. The confidence and self-esteem follows. I have deep certainty that I am living my purpose, and found alignment in my life through building a brand based on my uniqueness.
Today I am able to teach and support other women in crafting their magnetic brands, which is where my business was born.
Magnetic Boss Studio got its name because a client of mine reflected my magnetic energy to me one day, and it was all a result of stepping into my confidence. I was able to find self-esteem in myself and my business because I decided that was my story, and I embodied that belief fully.
It took practice, intention and the inner work to create the feeling of belonging.

Hi, I’m Calandra—a manifesting generator in Human Design with a knack for turning visions into reality.
As a mom and entrepreneur, I know firsthand the intricate dance between life, business, and soul. Whether it’s navigating the chaos of spit-up-covered clothes or finding time for some magic, I believe in embracing it all with authenticity and grace.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience: I know how to turn life’s challenges into profound lessons. My ability to embrace struggle as part of the journey allows me to guide my clients through difficult transitions with resilience and grace.
Strategic Clarity: I excel at helping others cut through mental clutter to uncover bold, innovative solutions. My strategies are forward-thinking, enabling my clients to stand out in their industries.
Inner Truth: My intuitive wisdom allows me to tap into profound truths, helping others align their branding and messaging with their authentic selves.
My best advice for someone early in their journey? Trust in your process.
Although you’ll be given a million pieces of advice, sold strategies for quick fixes, and see flashy ways of attaining success…your process will never look like anyone else’s. And that’s the beauty of it! When you trust in your process, every evolution and “setback” will guide you toward true alignment and fulfillment.

My ideal client is…
