Meet Caleb Williams

We were lucky to catch up with Caleb Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Caleb, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?

My self-discipline comes from a combination of internal motivation and structured habits. Setting clear goals and creating a routine that I stick to, helps me stay focused. I also rely on techniques like time management, breaking tasks into smaller steps, and holding myself accountable to stay disciplined. Consistency is my biggest strong suit i’d say.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Caleb Williams, I am 23 years old. Born in Augusta, GA, raised in Atlanta, GA. As a 17 year old high school dropout, I immediately joined the work force & got my first real job valeting cars around Atlanta. I did that for around a year & got another job portering at a local dealership. I juggled both of these opportunities until Covid-19 struck and shut the world down. At this point, I was essentially jobless so I had to find ways to make things work. I always knew that these jobs never felt right to me exchanging my time for money. With all this free time at home, I started to brainstorm new ways to generate income. This is how my journey into e-commerce started. It was safe, lucrative, I could work from anywhere & I wasn’t exchanging my time for money. It was life-changing for me, so I decided to go all in on the idea. Fast forward to today, I am still in the e-commerce business & I love every part of it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I’d say you must be able to run a business successfully, essentially e-commerce is a store, just over the web. That comes with knowing how to create and implement
strategies to generate sales, monitor website performance and customer data, manage and update website content, design, and features & develop campaigns to increase digital sales, just to name a few. Advice I have for anyone starting out is always keep enough capital. There will be good months and there will be rocky months. Capital is very important, this is the #1 reason most businesses fail, even in the e-commerce industry.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

Put your faith in Jesus and everything will fall into place.
