Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cali Floyd. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cali, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed my confidence and self-esteem by not overthinking less and just doing it. Any time a task needs to be completed I used to overthink and procrastinate. Now, I just do it. After the task is completed there is a satisfaction, a feeling of success and completion. That alone boosts my self-esteem. Nine times out of ten I will say to myself, “that wasn’t too bad.” That encourages me to keep going and be confident in the moves I make.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My brand is unique and I aim to be creative in all areas of live. I am most excited about being apart of local small business branding. I love creating shirts with logos for small businesses, as well as sharing their business. What I want people to know is art is everywhere and as long as you think positively and change your perspective anything is possible.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I believe as far as areas of knowledge, having an interest in the arts at a young age was beneficial. I had a great imagination and determined to get things done. Also, having the knowledge of providing customer service came in handy when it comes to running a business and contact customers through different channels. Being a people person, overall, is a great skill to have.
My advice to people who are in the early stages is to be patient, faithful and honest. Be accountable for any mistakes, miscommunication on your part and keep going no matter what.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
The book that played an important role in my development, I’d say would be The Four Agreements. The wisdom in that book can help anyone in all areas of life. Read it if you haven’t.
