Meet Cameron Garner

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cameron Garner a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Cameron , thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?

When it comes to communication, I feel like I’ve learned how to be effective in what I say through trail and error.
growing up, I use to be shy and never really speak my mind when things would bother me. Through different relationships (romantically or platonic) I’ve learned to utilize their ears and be clear in what’s bothering me, or just to get feedback and their opinion on anything that I’m wanting to talking to them about.
After practicing that for about 2 years, I started putting it into action and using that skill into the real world when meeting new people and found that they can appreciate that sense of calmness and honesty when speaking to them.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m an artist to the fullest extent of that term.
Kame is my stage name under my overall catch-all umbrella of a brand wxndrsoul.
with every project I make, I try to have my personality radiate through to the best of my ability. From the music I make, the style in which its being made, concept art, public work, videos I create, all the way to the clothes and jewelry that i’m wearing that i’ve made myself, I want to express my full creative element and artistic vision.
As far as upcoming projects, I do have some new music to share and maybe perhaps even a deluxe edition of my latest album release, MDRC2..
A little more further out, I want to start investing back more into myself and hopefully launch an official website for my clothing line, music and everything else I want to share with the world.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Articulation, Honesty, and Accountability.

I feel like if you can get your thoughts across clearly when talking to people, in any situation, I think you automatically have an upper hand in conversations.
Being honest should be self explanatory in the way that you know you would want to be told the truth when it comes to having information shared with you, or even just being your authentic self and not having to be closed off and not put yourself out there 100%.
Now holding yourself accountable may be the hardest one here if you cant even be honest because if you’re holding your pride up so high that you cant even recognize the reality you’re in, then there’s no way you can begin to hold yourself accountable for whatever the situation may be.

To me, through my time of growing, I found the best way to work on these skills is to just understand that you’re in control of your emotions and reactions, to where outside forces and circumstances are really in your hands to where how you choose to perceive them really can shape what can be taken from those moments.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Overall, i’m always looking for collaboration. That could be with music, art, anything in that area, but I’m always looking for the next partner to collaborate with in life.
I’m super drawn to connecting with people on more than just a surface level and am always looking to be someone’s student.
I want to surround myself with a good group of people that are uplifting and believe in me and the vision and goals I have set out for myself and that are willing to help guide me to them.

You can find me on all social platforms under the same username, but my preferred choice would be my instagram [@kameduh] if you’re wanting to reach out or see all that I’m working on.
