Meet Camron McAhren

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Camron McAhren a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Camron , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I had a mentor while in the corporate world who encouraged me to come up with an everyday purpose for myself. I was in a mentorship program with a mentor who always said there would be challenges, both personally and professionally, so I needed to find a purpose that would help me navigate through those challenges.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the CEO and owner of AIRO. We have five locations across three states focusing on 3 main pillars – Aviation education, consumer experiences and commercial aerial surveys. I feel like what is most exciting and special about what I do is that our company gets to help shape the next generation of pilots. I think that is so rewarding and exciting! We also get to share our passion for Aviation with our customers on a daily basis.

AIRO is a Greek word meaning to elevate, lift up and raise up. We do that both literally and figuratively daily for our students, customers and team members.

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I have always wanted to leave a legacy. I would pour into the future generation of our aviation industry. I read a quote one time from Babe Ruth that said,”Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.”. The only way to be a legend is to leave a legacy.
