Meet Candace Renae

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Candace Renae a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Candace, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in January 2020 and started a online clothing business 404 Couture Boutique. I have been in business now going on 4 years. I worked within the industry reality TV stars from Love & Hip Hop such as Sierra Gates, Rasheeda Frost and Bambi Benson the list goes on. I was inspired to start a clothing boutique once I joined Sierra Gates Money Monsters University helping Female entrepreneurs starting in their own business. As far as what accomplishments I’m the most proud of it would be all of them. The fact I been able to run multiple businesses of my own is a true blessing and I’m humble and grateful for it all.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
A little bit about me first comes first, I was born in Topeka, Kansas where I lived with my grandmother Ethel Henderson where I was raised at around the rest of my family. Having my own business today is not a shock because it ran in my family. My uncle’s and my brother all were straight hustlers. So again, it’s no shock that the business mindset was passed down to me. One thing I always had was a very creative mind. I got the chance to build very good relationships in the industry. Which generated a lot of folks to notice my business before you know it, my business was taking off. On my journey, I got the chance to travel to many different places which has landed me here in Atlanta, Georgia. Right now, the sky is the limit, and I’m on my way up and I’m not stopping until God tells me it’s time to. All I can say is God is good.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
One of my biggest obstacles is accepting the fact I’m one person and can only do so much. Consistency is the key. Having yourself a daily routine, never give up hope on your dreams. Remember failing is not a option. Take it one day at a time. I also provide mentorship helping entrepreneurs start their business. It’s my Facebook group Virtual Business Coach For Entrepreneurship is a society dedicated to developing and evolving entrepreneurs. You’ll learn how to attain money and join an accountability community where we learn, grow, and support one another. Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I’m a former CNA and I have been working in the medical industry for over 21 years. I started working with Lydia Covington CEO of Cscrubswithlove. I began my journey January 6, 2023 selling medical scrubs. Medical scrubs are a very high demand for nurses. Lydia Covington introduced to me the idea of having my own scrubs business. Over this past year I have developed a strong passion for the selling of amazing scrubs to the Healthcare Industry. This has been another amazing opportunity and I focus on my purpose and passion as being an entrepreneur and having multiple businesses.
