What can you share with us about your journey with postpartum depression and how you overcame PPD? I conquered Postpartum Depression by discovering a love for makeup. Watching beauty influencers like SupaCent doing makeup on Instagram Live was inspiring for me. Despite feeling vulnerable and depressed internally, I found joy and peace in recreating those stunning looks. It also sparked a newfound sense of beauty and self-love within me.

Hello, I’m Candace, the CEO and Founder of Kissing Booth Cosmetics, based in Miami, FL. My daily routine involves attending events, taking my daughter to extracurricular activities, and traveling with friends and family across different cities and countries. As a busy woman and makeup enthusiast, I often need to achieve a flawless full or soft glam look quickly. After overcoming postpartum depression, I launched Kissing Booth Cosmetics in 2020 to cater to the lifestyles of busy women, acknowledging their vulnerability, and boosting self-confidence through makeup routines. Balancing single motherhood, a full-time job, entrepreneurship, and occasional travels is challenging. Each day has its ups and downs, but the resilience gained proves that I can overcome any obstacle.
In 2024, Kissing Booth Cosmetics now offers more than 25 essential products for a busy woman’s efficient and flawless beauty routine. Customers love the brand’s long-lasting lipsticks, non-transferring lip colors, and moisturizing handmade lip glosses. The brand has been featured in various magazines such as The Miami Times, VoyageMIA, Shoutout Miami, and more, highlighting its swift shipping, high product quality, and diverse color range suitable for all skin tones. New products, including the brand’s debut eyeshadow palette, are set to be launched later this year. I take great pride in the brand’s growth and evolution. What began as a hobby has blossomed into a brand that promotes self-love, resilience, and celebrates diverse beauty. I encourage everyone to explore turning their passions into a source of income. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
At the start of my entrepreneurial journey, I made the decision to become the first business owner in my immediate family. Despite being afraid to fail, I knew it would secure a better future for my daughter. Believing in myself and my potential was an important quality. Presently, my faith and relationship with God bring me peace during life’s challenges and slow periods in both my personal and business. The life I once prayed for is now my reality, so although it’s cliche, prayer without works is dead! Lastly, consistency is key! Whether it’s creating content, sending emails, or staying updated on trends and styles, maintaining consistency with your passion and customers is essential. Customers rely on you to solve their problems, and your product is their solution. My advice to anyone starting out is to keep believing in yourself, your ideas, and your aspirations. These beliefs will drive you towards success.
