We were lucky to catch up with Candice Lambert-McAndrews recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Candice with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Both of my parents worked while I was growing up, and I watched them show up every single day with dedication and purpose. My father, a general in the Army, lived by a strong personal ethos—he always put his soldiers before himself. My mother broke barriers in her field, becoming the only female manager at a company focused on intelligence and scientific work.
They were both deeply committed to education and integrity, and their example taught me invaluable lessons. Inspired by them, I joined the military myself. There, I learned how to persevere through adversity, accomplish even the most difficult tasks, and work as part of a team—among many other lifelong skills.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’ve often felt misunderstood—like I didn’t quite fit in or align with what others considered “normal.” But with time and experience, I came to understand that my uniqueness is actually my strength. That realization is what drives me to help others feel truly seen and understood.
Many people—artists, celebrities, and everyday individuals alike—struggle to express who they really are. My goal with every client is to help them project their true self outward, using clothing as a powerful tool of self-expression. I work to bring the inner you to the surface.
Through this process, my clients often discover a deeper sense of self-love and confidence. That’s what my brand is all about: helping you become the top-tier version of yourself. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach—everyone’s version of “best” is different. I celebrate those differences, and I want every client to authentically shine.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One of the most overlooked aspects of styling is just how much financial responsibility it carries. This field isn’t just about picking looks—it’s about managing real money, often in large amounts. We regularly work with high-priced items, tight budgets, and quick turnarounds. Every decision matters, because every piece pulled or purchased impacts the bottom line.
Stylists have to be strategic and detail-oriented. You’re juggling last-minute requests, handling luxury items, and staying within strict financial constraints—all while keeping clients happy and projects on track. Add in multiple decision-makers, and it becomes clear: you need to be punctual, adaptable, and always on point. This job demands trust, precision, and an understanding of how to bring creative vision to life without compromising the budget.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I believe the best work comes from collaboration—and I’m always excited to connect with new clients, creatives, and brands who want to bring bold ideas to life. Whether you have a clear vision or just a spark of inspiration, I’m here to help shape it, elevate it, and make it a reality.
I don’t believe in gatekeeping creativity. You don’t need to fit a mold to work with me—just a desire to create something impactful. My process is open, flexible, and fully focused on helping you. If you’re ready to collaborate. If you’re passionate, ready to create, and open to the process, then I’m all in. My door is always open, and I’m here to build something great—together.
