Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Candy Schibli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Candy, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
I don’t know if I’ll ever overcome imposter syndrome. I think I am more accepting of myself, my strengths and my limitations the more I learn. This means also accepting that we all have our strengths and weaknesses and so we do our best to as prepared as we can and knowledgeable as we can in our fields still recognizing that there is always something to learn. But showing up as I am with the strengths and knowledge that I have gained over time is enough for me to know that if I am in a room, I belong there.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
It sounds cliche, but I think the most impactful quality for me to be impactful in my journey has been for me to stick to my intuition. The gut knows, the body knows when there is alignment of misalignment with something. Skills can be learned if those skills are where your interests are. I think it’s important to learn as much as possible, but the intuition decides what we do with that information.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
This is an interesting question. I think The Highly Sensitive Person by Elaine Aron has helped me better understand myself and how to manage myself in retain situations in a way that best suits my personality. This has been key in my development – the valuable nugget being not to overstimulate myself. So, I’ve learned to pause, chill if I need to.
