Meet Caramu Y

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Caramu Y. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Caramu, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I found my purpose in life at an early age growing up in a two parent household that taught me the correct way of doing things and how to treat people. My parents and big brother were always there for me. Keeping me on path through education and staying out of trouble. By remaining on path during my primary education journey, I knew higher education would be something for me as well. I attended and graduated from THEE Jackson State University located in The “City with Soul”, Jackson, MS where I earned a degree in Speech Communications.

While at Jackson State University, I held an elite position as Drum Major for The Famous “Sonic Boom” of the South Marching Band. The position required a high level of leadership skills. I used a great deal of those leadership skills in my current profession as an Event Curator and Professional DJ.

I curator and host several events worldwide that also serves the purpose of giving back to various communities and / or non-profit organizations. The joy I receive from producing a successful event and being able to give back to communities and organizations financially confirms my purpose in my chosen industry.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Man of God. Father. Son. Brother. Friend. Event Curator. Professional DJ. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Patience, perseverance and love. Love what you do and do what you love. Try to help others along your journey.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

The support of my friends and the communities I have impacted in a positive way helps me overcome any challenge I am faced with.
