We were lucky to catch up with Carey Angdahl recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Carey, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
This accident is where I get my resilience from… On May 4th, 2017, a normal morning as an electrician, I had, what was supposed to be a quick stop, to show up at a jobsite and install one quick light fixture in the ceiling. Little did I know that this was almost my last day. Upon installing the light fixture in the ceiling, old existing wiring that I wasn’t working on came apart without me knowing and made contact with my exposed wrist, my elbows and forearms were touching the T-Bar ceiling making my body complete the circuit, and I was electrocuted by 277volts for more than 10 seconds. My body’s muscles retracted so fast and hard from the electric shock, it caused me to bite down so hard it shattered my own jaw. The last thing I remember before waking up on the ground in a puddle of blood, was what I call, a bolt of lightning coming out of my mouth. Apparently the rabid shaking and jolting of my body caused my feet to come off the ladder and gravity then pulled me off saving my life. Had I been on the ground when this happened, I would have burnt up like a hot on a stick. Moment’s after waking up on the floor, not knowing how long I was laying there, a security guard comes into the room and he says he could smell burnt flesh, what he was smelling was me from basically being cooked, while being electrocuted. He told me I had blood pouring out of my mouth. I have a very large beard so I didn’t feel the blood filling it into it and dripping out onto the floor. I turn to my left and there’s a bathroom, so I step into it and look in the mirror. My entire mouth is full of blood, and it appears that I have no teeth. All my teeth in my lower jaw were broken and dangling in my mouth. He asked me for a key that I had in my pocket, I gave it to him and he left. Because I needed to get the job done, and get paid, I cleaned up and proceeded to climb back up the ladder and finish my light fixture installation, and fixed the wiring that almost killed me. As an electrician you usually turn circuits off for safety reasons. Today there’s a reason why this couldn’t happen. I was working in a medical facility and things are properly labelled, and you can’t turn circuits off when there are patients that need electricity. After finishing the work, I proceeded to take my tools back to my work truck. When I got there my left arm started to lock up and freeze. So I called my wife. I told her I loved her and what had happened. Lucky me, an Emergency Room is located in the next building adjacent to the one I was working in. Once I walked over there, they proceeded to hook me up to all kinds of machines, monitoring my heart and all my other organs. I spent 3 days in the Hospital, before returning home.
For the next 7 years I was treated by up to 9 Drs and I wasn’t getting better. Most days I felt worse. Because of this accident I now permanently suffer from what is called a MTBI (Mild Traumatic Brain Injury). I have chronic headaches, rapidly deteriorating eyesight, major nerve damage throughout the left side of my body, tinnitus in both ears, memory loss and various other ailments. I was living everyday in constant pain and had to do something about it!! Prior to this accident I was an extremely active person. I was in great shape and in perfect health. I was athletic. I played Sports. I was able to do highly active activities day after day. I felt that at 40, I felt pretty Unstoppable. After my accident, I wasn’t the same person physically or mentally anymore. I didn’t think I was ever going to be able to go back to work again and take care of my family
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
When I reflect on my journey, I can pinpoint three key qualities that have been the driving forces behind my success: perseverance, creativity, and adaptability.
Growing up as a high school and college athlete, I learned early on that success doesn’t come without hard work. In sports, just like in life, you have to put in the effort if you want to win. That mentality of pushing through obstacles has stayed with me. Even when things were tough, like when I was an electrician for 25 years and almost lost my life to that line of work, I kept going. Now, I channel that same perseverance into 360 Boogie Booths. I’m constantly pushing myself to improve, both personally and professionally, because I know that success requires dedication, and that drive has been a major factor in where I am today.
On the creative side, I’ve always had a passion for art—specifically moving art, like animation, videos, and GIFs. Creating videos and moving visuals has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As well as my family’s history. What excites me about this business is that it allows me to merge my love for art with technology, creating an entirely new experience that people can enjoy. My advice for anyone starting out is to find what you love and use it to fuel your work. Whether it’s art, technology, or something else, passion is what makes you stand out.
Lastly, adaptability has been crucial. After 25 years as an electrician, I knew I didn’t want to continue down that path, especially after it almost cost me my life. But the skills I learned, like expertise in lighting, turned out to be incredibly valuable when I transitioned into this business. I was able to combine that knowledge with my creative skills, and now, I’m not just creating videos—I’m crafting immersive experiences that captivate people. For those starting out, my advice is to embrace change. Don’t be afraid to pivot or evolve your skills to fit what’s needed in the moment. Adaptability is key, and it will open doors you never expected.
In short, perseverance, creativity, and adaptability have been the pillars of my journey. And for anyone starting out, focus on these qualities—they’ll help you build a foundation for long-term success.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As I look ahead, I’m genuinely excited about the endless opportunities for collaboration. At 360 Boogie Booths, our mission is to create something unique, unforgettable, and truly immersive for every event we’re a part of. But what really excites me is the potential to collaborate with others who are equally passionate about pushing the boundaries of creativity and technology.
Whether you’re an artist, an event planner, a tech innovator, or an entrepreneur, I believe that collaboration is the key to unlocking new ideas and creating experiences that no one has ever seen before. I’ve always believed that the best results come from bringing together diverse perspectives and talents—when you join forces with others who share your vision and energy, you create something much greater than what you could ever do alone. That’s why I’m always open to partnerships and collaborations with like-minded individuals who are as driven and creative as we are.
I’m eager to work with people who want to innovate and take the experience to the next level—whether that’s through custom event setups, new technology, or cutting-edge visual art. If you’re someone who thrives on thinking outside the box, if you’ve got a passion for creating groundbreaking, memorable moments, then let’s talk! Together, we can build something extraordinary that leaves a lasting impact on our clients and their guests. The possibilities are endless when we combine our strengths and ideas.
If what we’re doing at 360 Boogie Booths resonates with you, and you’re as passionate about creating unforgettable experiences as we are, I invite you to join forces. Let’s see where our combined energy and creativity can take us. Together, we can not only elevate our work but create moments that will leave people in awe and memories that last a lifetime. So let’s connect, collaborate, and continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible!
