Meet Carissa Mendoza

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Carissa Mendoza a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Carissa, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Self-care is a priority for me I have established a routine that involves various aspects of well-being; I work with a Somatic Experience Coach to maintain mental health, a chiropractor to maintain physical health, set boundaries in both personal and work life for balance, dedicate intentional time with loved ones. minimize screen time, meditate/pray daily, and take short breaks to reset during the day. This comprehensive approach has notably enhanced my effectiveness by boosting focus, reducing stress, and fostering a greater sense of resilience amidst daily challenges.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a passionate hairdresser with expertise in crafting custom colors. Additionally, I am a Master Certified Hydrafacialist, specializing in aiding women and men dealing with hair loss through innovative Hydrafacial Keravive Treatments. Simultaneously, I’m dedicated to furthering my professional coaching career, actively pursuing my ACC credential with the International Coaching Federation. As a practicing Professional Coach, my focus lies in empowering individuals to discover their voice, establish boundaries, and live confidently in both their work and home lives. This multifaceted journey allows me to blend creativity, expertise, and a commitment to guiding others towards self-assurance and fulfillment.

Currently I have a Hydrafacial Keravive special going on for hairloss and scalp health (email for details).
I am also offering a few deals on coaching sessions. (email for details)

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
FIrst: Boundaries. Whether you work outside the home or full time in the home boundaries with those you interactive are very important. Decide who, how and when individuals have access to your. Second: Surround yourself from the beginning with people (bosses, coworkers, friends, partners, family members, friends etc) that align with your true-self at this time and your values. Find people all ready modeling the things, dreams, desires that you have. Ask for help and wisdom.
Third: Work on finding and using your voice, Learn yourself and how you want to show up for yourself and the world around you.

All of things dont follow a linear line. They may change with seasons of your life so its important to revisit and reassess things.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Currently I am in a season of change and evolution. I am reevaluating my purpose and why for different areas of my life and how I want to show up; especially professionally. To help myself overcome this challenge I am looking both inside and outward for help. I am working with a coach, I am spending time intentionally alone and meditating and praying on what I desire. This season has also called on more time in relation with others, so I am scheduling time with people close to me.
