Meet Carla Allen

We were lucky to catch up with Carla Allen recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Carla, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
hi! I’m happy to be here thank you guys for having me, for self care I treat myself to spa days get a facial or massage, and take a walk on the beach or balboa park. It really helps clear my head and boosts my creativity.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
So I’m born and raised in San Diego I’m currently going to school at Mesa college. I do acting here and there, some of my hobbies are cooking, art museums and poetry, I also love music and nature.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being consistent is a big one almost every day submitting myself to castings, taking new headshots, keeping in contact with the producers, directors whoever is in charge showing them your committed and determined to work. Stepping out of your comfort zone, I used to be extremely shy when it came to auditions or being on set with a lot of people (social anxiety) but once I’ve gotten comfortable with the fact that we are all just regular people here for the same reason, once the camera starts rolling all those nerves just disappear, there’s no need to be nervous. In this business it’s not so much about your resume it’s about the people you know so keep in contact make those connections and stay consistent with it, also have good headshots they help alot

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to collaborate with other up-and-coming actors or people who want to get into acting. We can help each other out with self-tapes, reels, all that stuff , we can even do little skits to put on social media to get known and boost our confidence from being camera shy, start new friendships it’ll be awesome
