Meet Carlos Mendivil

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carlos Mendivil. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Carlos , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
A major component for my work ethic stems from my childhood and the morals instilled in me by my parents. They moved to the United States from Mexico at a young age and I witnessed first hand the amount of effort it took in order to provide the life that my siblings and I required to succeed.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
At Mendivil Media, my focus and energy is invested in digital media consulting and brand development. In my position it’s important to continuously be learning, developing, and have a general understanding of the technology, trends, and tools that are constantly evolving. The goal is to deliver unforgettable results that elevate established brands to new heights and launch ambitious start-ups towards their goals.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most impactful qualities early in my career would have to be; Graphic Design, Web Development & Networking. Combining the three skills enabled me to develop a strong foundation and deliver strong on-target products to high profile clients.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
Overall, It’s important to have a general understanding of one’s strengths and weaknesses. As much as I rely on my strengths I understand that tasks that are new will expand my skill set and progress my career once I learn them. The key is to maintain a healthy flow of projects and finding a balance between tasks that require me to develop my skill set, in rotation with projects that I excel at.
