Carly, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Hi I am Carly! As the founder of Immerse, I keep my creativity alive by staying deeply connected to nature, especially the ocean. Every swimwear collection we create is inspired by the colors, textures, and tranquility of the natural world. I love to freedive and spend hours in the water—it’s where I truly get to relax, disconnect, and let creativity spark. The way light dances beneath the surface, the feel of the water on my skin, and the rhythm of the waves all feed into the designs. Being in the ocean helps me clear my mind and opens up space for new ideas to flow.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, the three qualities that have made the biggest impact on my journey are resilience, creativity, and adaptability. Resilience has been key, especially when things didn’t go as planned with launching Immerse Bikinis. There were plenty of challenges along the way, but learning from those setbacks and staying committed is what kept me going. Creativity has always been at the heart of what I do—drawing inspiration from nature and the ocean to bring something fresh to my designs. And adaptability has been huge, whether it’s adjusting to changing trends or finding new ways to connect with my audience.
For anyone just starting out, my advice would be to really lean into these qualities. Stay persistent when things get tough, keep pushing yourself creatively, and always be open to change. The ability to pivot and evolve is what will help you grow and keep up with an ever-changing world. Keep learning, stay flexible, and trust the process!
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
In the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been learning how to balance creativity with the business side of things. Along with diving deeper into operations and finances, I’ve also taken on a lot more in terms of website development, managing social media, coordinating photoshoots, and planning marketing strategies. We’ve done pop-ups, events, and collaborations that have really helped immerse the brand in different communities. It’s been a big learning curve, but getting involved in every part of the process—from creative to business—has been a huge area of improvement for me. Balancing it all while staying true to my vision has definitely been the most rewarding part!
