Meet Carolina Castellano

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Carolina Castellano. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Carolina, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

My resilience was born in Venezuela. Growing up in a country full of challenges taught me from a young age what it means to keep going, even when things aren’t fair, easy, or stable.

When I emigrated to the United States, I had to start from scratch , a new language, a new culture, and no clear path to follow. At first, I considered studying to become an esthetician, but I met Professor Yudith a kind and generous woman who spoke about this career with so much passion. She offered me guidance, help with the payments, and opened the door to an opportunity I hadn’t even considered before.

I always loved receiving massages, but giving them was a whole different story. Still, I accepted the challenge. It wasn’t easy, everything was related to anatomy and medical terminology, and I came from a background in marketing and finance. Many times I felt out of place. But I kept going.

Then came an even bigger challenge: how to find clients, without any support network. All I had were my hands, my calling, and a deep desire to help others heal. Becoming a massage therapist wasn’t just a professional choice it was a way to rebuild myself in a new land.

There were difficult weeks, moments when I gave massages for free just so someone would get to know me. I felt physical exhaustion, insecurity, and the pressure to prove I could make it, all while deeply missing my family and my country.

But something inside me kept saying, “Keep going.” I thought about my mother’s strength. And most of all, I thought about my children. They have been my greatest source of strength, my motivation. I want them to see in me a woman who fights, who reinvents herself, and who turns obstacles into opportunities.

Resilience, for me, is born from pain, but it blossoms through service. I’ve learned that healing both others and myself is a sacred act. I walk with pride in my roots, and with love for the purpose that drives me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Carolina. I’m a massage therapist based in Las Vegas and proudly Venezuelan. I’ve been in this beautiful profession for over four years, and what I love most about this path is the human connection that’s created in each session. For me, massage is so much more than a technique it’s a silent language that touches not only the body, but also the soul.

I work primarily with athletes, but I also support people who carry deep emotional tension. My brand, Sincity Massage Therapist, was born from the desire to offer genuine, professional care, always from the heart. Every person who comes to my table is unique. I welcome them with respect, presence, and kindness. I take the time to feel, to listen with my hands, to read their gestures, and to create a space where they can release, heal, and just be.

What makes my work special, is the intention behind it and the energy that flows between us. To me, massage is a sacred act: a moment of presence, trust, and healing. It’s not just about relieving physical pain, but about making people feel seen, valued, and renewed from the inside out.

These days, I’m expanding my services to include emotional wellness experiences and techniques that integrate body and mind. I also have a new project in development: incorporating the AShiatsu technique into my sessions to offer clients a different, deeper, and more restorative option. I’m excited to keep learning and exploring new ways to heal.

I’m also working on content in Spanish focused on immigrant women who, like me, know what it means to put themselves last in order to survive. I want to help them choose themselves again, to remember that caring for yourself is also an act of love.

If you’re in Las Vegas or just visiting, I’d love to welcome you into my space. You can find me on Instagram at @sincity_massage_therapist, where I share my work, wellness tips, and moments from the soul.

Thank you for reading. Everything I do, I do with sincerity, intention, and love.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, there are three things that have been essential to my growth both as a massage therapist and as a woman building a life in a new country: empathy, discipline, and trust in my intuition.
1. Empathy:
Learning to truly put myself in someone else’s shoes has been key to building meaningful connections with my clients. Empathy allows me to respect their process, their pain, and their energy. It’s what transforms a technical massage into a healing experience. My advice to those just starting out is to slow down, observe, and learn to listen , not just with your ears, but with your hands and heart.
2. Discipline:
Nothing would’ve been possible without consistency. In this career, you can’t give up easily. There are days when your body is tired, days without clients, and moments of doubt. But discipline taught me that results come when you show up with commitment. It’s not just about talent it’s about repetition, refinement, and belief.
3. Intuition and body sensitivity:
This is something no textbook taught me. I learned through experience to trust my hands, to feel and follow the subtle messages a body gives. Sometimes the body speaks without words, and it’s our job to listen. My advice here: don’t rush. Take your time to observe, to breathe, to connect, and let the body guide you.

These three qualities don’t show up overnight. But every session, every person who lies on your table, helps you nurture them. All it takes is presence, humility, and love.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

This past year, I’ve experienced incredible growth not only as a massage therapist, but also as a woman, entrepreneur, and human being. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned has been to truly value my energy and set healthy boundaries. In this profession, where we give so much of ourselves, taking care of our own well-being is also part of the work.

Professionally, I’ve become more structured. I manage my schedule and pricing more clearly, and I’ve learned to communicate the value of my work with more confidence. I’ve gotten comfortable saying “no” to things that don’t align with me and that’s created space for more authentic opportunities.

One of those beautiful opportunities has been working as part of the team at Torture Gym, where I’ve connected with athletes, coaches, and professionals who truly respect and value my work. It’s helped me grow as a sports massage therapist and reach people who genuinely benefit from what I do.

And that’s what fills me the most: reaching new people who need healing, support, and care. I feel deeply fulfilled when someone walks into my space with pain, tension, or an injury and at the end of the session says, “Wow, I feel so much better.” Knowing that what I do can transform someone’s day and sometimes even their life is priceless. That’s when everything makes sense.

I’ve also grown in the digital world, bringing my brand to life, building my online presence, and sharing from the heart. Today, I’m clearer than ever about my purpose, and i am more connected to the community I’m building.
