Meet Carter Kench

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Carter Kench. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Carter below.

Carter, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I think everything in life is a balance. When it comes to make sure your creativity never dries up, you need to rest whenever you’re feeling love to recharge. I keep mine alive by taking naps & never forcing it. I listen to myself and if I don’t feel like I’m emotionally able to create, I take walks, partake in earthing, and go through different exercises to mentally decompress.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Carter Kench and I’m a lifestyle creator that makes YouTube videos! I love making YouTube content, whether it be vlogs, reaction videos, or pranks. I try to inspire my corner of the internet and remind them of positivity, along with bringing humor to everyday life.

I think the most exciting & special part about it is making people smile even if I’m not with them personally. I love being able to impact people’s lives without going to their house.

I tried to be relatable by making lifestyle content. I keep my audience in mind when I create content to never feel out of touch.

I’m attending VidCon as a featured creator this year & I’m excited to do a meet & greet there, along with continuing partnerships with Squishmallows & Spirit Halloween.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Following your heart is a really important quality – you’ll work much better when your entire body agrees. With social media, it was one of the only things that my entire body enjoyed & I think it’s important to love what you do.

Having a supportive family & friends around me allowed me to expand my comfort zone & grow. They helped me feel more secure & grounded while starting my journey as a content creator.

Not caring what people think & not being afraid to stand out helped me start creating as well.

Advice: find a rhythm that you align with so that it doesn’t feel like work – don’t dry yourself out or force yourself to make content, let it be true & natural to you

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Feeling overwhelmed is something everyone can relate to & it helps you grow. Accepting that you feel overwhelmed is the most important thing in overcoming it. It’s important to take things one step at a time & take tasks one-by-one instead of taking in everything all at once.

For advice or strategies, remember to breathe and drink water – life will get stressful, but everything happens for a reason and you’re meant to experience those emotions at that time. Find an outlet to help ground you – whether it be walking, exercising, etc. & once you’re ready, start tackling your obligations, then reward yourself for getting through it.
