Meet Cashmere Morley

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cashmere Morley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Cashmere, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

When I first started running a company, I had to learn to trust my instincts—there wasn’t anyone telling me I was making the right call on a design direction, a client decision, or a public art proposal. Over time, I realized confidence isn’t about never doubting yourself; it’s about learning to move forward *through* that uncertainty and trusting your experience.

Each project—especially the ones that started as just a rough idea—taught me that I could bring something from concept to reality. Seeing a mural, exhibition, or public artwork installed and making an impact on people builds a deep kind of confidence you can’t fake.

I’ve also learned a lot from collaborating with other artists, institutions, and city programs. Working with people who respect and value Pendulee’s creative process helped me see my own strengths more clearly. So, I’d say I built confidence the way most creative people do—by showing up, learning from what doesn’t work, and realizing that my voice and perspective add something real to the table.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At Pendulee, we create immersive experiences that bring art and stories to life in public spaces and museums. I love designing spaces that people can step into, interact with, and remember—the moments when someone connects with a story or artwork are what make this work special.

We collaborate with artists, communities, and institutions to make each project unique, whether it’s a museum exhibit, public art installation, or interactive experience. Right now, we’re expanding into temporary and participatory projects that invite people to engage with art in new ways. Our goal is to make art more accessible, inviting, and alive in the spaces we share.

Pendulee is all about making art accessible, meaningful, and alive—turning creative ideas into experiences that leave a lasting impression.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, three things really shaped my journey are creativity with purpose, resilience, and collaboration.

Creativity with purpose is about more than making something look good—it’s about designing experiences that actually connect with people. Resilience comes from dealing with the unexpected; in running Pendulee, not every project goes perfectly, and I’ve learned to problem-solve and keep moving forward. Collaboration has been huge, too—the best ideas usually come from combining perspectives and skills, not working alone.

For anyone starting out, I’d say: experiment boldly, don’t fear mistakes, and seek out people who challenge and inspire you. Growth happens when you push yourself, learn from what doesn’t work, and stay open to other ideas.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Yes! At Pendulee, we’re always excited to collaborate with artists, designers, community organizations, and cultural institutions who are interested in creating meaningful, interactive, or public-facing experiences. We love working with people who are curious, bold, and willing to experiment—whether that’s developing a museum exhibit, a public art installation, or an immersive community project.

If you’re interested in collaborating, the best way to connect is to reach out via email at [email protected]. We’re always eager to explore new ideas and see how we can bring them to life together.
