Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cassandra Vilicich. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Cassandra, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I developed my work ethic from a young age, watching my parents work hard and instill the importance of dedication and perseverance. As I grew, I embraced those values, and they became even more essential when I started Beachside Wax and Glow. Running a business requires consistency, attention to detail, and a passion for your craft, which I take pride in. I love providing my clients with the best service possible, and that drive to excel is what keeps me motivated every day.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

At Beachside Wax and Glow, we specialize in personalized beauty treatments, including waxing, sugaring, lash lifts, and permanent jewelry. What makes us truly special is our commitment to creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where every client feels pampered and cared for. I believe beauty is about feeling good inside and out, and I love helping my clients achieve that confidence.

One of the most exciting developments for us is the addition of facials to our service menu towards the end of this year. We’ve carefully crafted treatments like our anti-aging ‘Turn Back the Clock’ facial and ‘Wake Me Up Looking Like a Glazed Donut’ facial, which focuses on relaxation and rejuvenation. I can’t wait to share these new services to our clients!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that had the most impact on my journey were perseverance, adaptability, and a strong sense of customer service. Perseverance was key because starting a business isn’t easy, and there were many challenges along the way, but sticking to my goals kept me going. Adaptability helped me stay open to change, whether it was learning new techniques, adjusting services to meet client needs, or navigating the unpredictability of running a business. Lastly, excellent customer service is at the heart of everything I do. It’s not just about providing treatments—it’s about building relationships and making sure every client leaves feeling valued and satisfied.

For those early in their journey, my advice is to stay resilient when things get tough, be willing to learn and pivot when necessary, and always prioritize your clients’ experience. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, so staying curious and committed to growth is key.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?

One of the current challenges I’m facing is expanding Beachside Wax and Glow’s service offerings while maintaining the high-quality, personalized experience my clients love. As we introduce new services, like facials, and work to grow our clientele, it’s important to find the right balance between scaling the business and ensuring that each client still gets that one-on-one attention. I’m also navigating how to effectively market these new offerings and reach a broader audience without losing the intimate feel of my brand. To tackle this, I’m investing time in planning and slowly rolling out new services to ensure everything aligns with my vision.
