In a world filled with doubt and uncertainty, I have found myself falling into this response at time. Creating Cassidy Scanlan Advertising Group has been the greatest catalyst in shifting my mindset. Running a company comes with a lot of responsibility and the possibility of complications. Instead of succumbing to doubt and uncertainty, I am able to resolve these issues in a more meaningful way. I now understand that every problem is a learning lesson that has its purpose or serves a greater meaning. Choosing to let go of pessimism and focus on positivity has helped give me a new outlook on life. Optimism has aided in my problem solving skills, reduced stress levels, increased motivation and resilience.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As a third generation entrepreneur, I had the opportunity to work for my family’s company throughout high school and college. During my time working for my family’s company, I had the chance to learn about sales, accounting, bid review, event coordination, graphic design, videography, website design, branding and social media management. Combining all these skills I felt confident enough to set off on my own and create Cassidy Scanlan Advertising Group. Although there are many freelance marketing firms, I knew my experience, knowledge, communication skills and fair pricing would help me stand out. CSAG works with small companies around the United States offering website design, video creation, branding and social media management. I’m proud to say we have upheld our promise of integrity, commitment and finding equitable solutions for our clients marketing problems.

It is crucial for marketers to have a diverse set of skills in this competitive market. Here are the three most important qualities I have used while running CSAG…
1. Adaptability: Being a business owner, I have had to really lean into my adaptability. Each day is unique and I always have to be willing to complete challenges with a mental nimbleness. It’s impossible to predict the future so I have to embrace the uncertainty each day brings.
2. Creativity: Creativity has been an essential function of running my business. When creating a marketing campaign for my clients, it is crucial that I ensure the final product is fresh, staying on trend and also adheres to their desires.
3. Communication: I ensure an open ended line of communication between my clients and I. It doesn’t matter the time of day, I want my clients to feel comfortable enough to reach out to me with any ideas, questions or concerns.
Adaptability, creativity and communication have helped me navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship and yield meaningful results.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I started Cassidy Scanlan Advertising Group, I knew I would have to navigate the struggles of feeling overwhelmed. I have personally felt affected by the long hours, managing responsibilities and handling the struggles of entrepreneurship. In the times I have felt overwhelmed, I have created coping strategies to help alleviate some of my stress. One of these ways is to ask advice from family members and other professionals. I have found this is a proactive way to get another perspective on an issue I am facing. Another way I cope is through being organized. When I am aware of what needs to be done and when, I feel more in control of my schedule. Lastly, taking breathers during my work day. Going for a quick walk can help put me back in the right frame of mind. Feeling overwhelmed is such a common problem and these are just some things I do to help regain calmness and prioritize my wellbeing.
