We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cassidy Trumpour. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with cassidy below.
Cassidy, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Working in Hollywood can be both exhilarating and intimidating, but I’ve learned to find my confidence by staying grounded in my purpose and passion for storytelling. In an industry that often emphasizes external validation, I’ve found self-esteem through the work itself—by showing up with dedication, staying curious, and trusting in my voice as a creative. Collaborating with talented professionals and contributing meaningfully to projects has helped me recognize my value, not just as a worker, but as an artist. Every challenge I overcome and every step forward, no matter how small, reinforces my belief that I belong here and have something unique to offer.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Working for a director and producer like Adam Sigal has given me a front-row seat to the dynamic and fast-paced world of film production. There’s a unique excitement that comes with being part of the creative process from behind the scenes—watching ideas evolve from script to screen, problem-solving in real time, and witnessing the collaborative energy that brings a project to life. Every day on set or in pre-production brings something new, whether it’s scouting locations, sitting in on creative meetings, or helping navigate the many moving parts of a shoot. Being immersed in that environment has deepened my appreciation for the art and logistics of filmmaking and constantly fuels my passion for telling stories on a larger scale.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are perseverance, adaptability, and a strong foundation in storytelling. Perseverance has carried me through the industry’s ups and downs—from pausing my education during the pandemic to navigating the uncertainty of graduating during a film strike. Adaptability has been equally essential, allowing me to shift roles, learn quickly on the job, and stay grounded amid the unpredictable nature of production. Above all, my passion for storytelling—honed through both academic study and hands-on experience—has been the driving force behind every step I’ve taken. These qualities have not only shaped my path but continue to guide me as I work toward becoming a filmmaker in my own right.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I start to feel overwhelmed, I’ve learned the importance of stepping away and giving myself space to reset. I find peace in simple things like connecting with nature, going to the beach, taking a drive along the coast, or just being near the water helps clear my head. Having hobbies, whether it’s hitting the stables or spending time on the golf course, allows me to refocus and recharge. These moments remind me to breathe, slow down, and regain perspective, which is essential in an industry that often moves at a relentless pace. Taking care of my mental well-being has become a vital part of staying grounded and creative.
