We were lucky to catch up with Cassie & Jake Greatens recently and have shared our conversation below.
Cassie & Jake, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Cassie and Jake keep their creativity fresh and alive through travel, reading, and staying up to date with global trends. By exhibiting contemporary art, they continuously follow contemporary artists and news related to the art world. This type of art can sometimes reflect what’s happening in the world in terms of norms and trends, which helps them stay current and motivated to think forward!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Florida-based founders of CASS Contemporary, Jake and Cassie Greatens, bring distinct experiences to the art scene—Jake as an artist and gallery owner and Cassie with a more nontraditional pathway to her art expertise. The idea for CASS was sparked through their collective experiences, travel, and passion for art. Once they made the decision to launch the enterprise, they never looked back, growing CASS into the quality art consultation and management service it is today.
Jake and Cassie founded CASS on the principle that art is for everyone. They want everyone to open their minds to mediums of art they may not usually access. They endeavor to spark innovation, fun, and excitement in every corner of the world with art. Jake and Cassie’s undying love for the arts and the enthusiasm of their customers continue to fuel CASS’s mission to deliver art of all styles and mediums to communities and collectors.
CASS specializes in everything that has to do with art. From murals, art exhibits, and art installations to managing collections or assisting in purchasing just one piece for the client, CASS is a multidimensional art company. Jake and Cassie are most proud of the connections they have developed with their artists and clients, as they believe solid and trusting relationships are key to success.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Jake – Attention to Detail
Jake is always learning, modifying, and perfecting the creative aspects within our company. His focus on detail ensures our work stays sharp and refined.
2. Cassie – People Person
I am constantly striving to meet new people—art collectors, artists, art enthusiasts, and anyone with a passion for culture. My ability to connect with individuals from all walks of life helps CASS succeed and grow.
3. Education
We are always educating ourselves and take pride in educating our clients—and even friends—about artists, art trends, and the importance of art in our daily lives.
How does art shape our everyday experience? It influences us in ways we don’t always see—through design, color, and self-expression. There is tremendous value in continuous learning and dedicating yourself to a subject, with the goal of always becoming more of an expert in your field.
What’s great about CASS—well, Jake and me —is our yin and yang dynamic. One doesn’t work without the other. He brings creativity and deep knowledge of art, while I contribute to the business side of the company.
That’s our advice: you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with. Don’t back yourself into a corner by only working with people just like you. It’s important to find individuals whose strengths complement your weaknesses, and vice versa.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Our growth over the past 12 months—and in general—has come from expanding our platform. Jake and I are constantly researching and exploring new ways to give artists visibility, whether it’s through a spirit label, a canvas in a client’s home, an installation for a business, or a large public art piece for a developer or neighborhood.
The question we ask ourselves daily is: How can we keep art at the forefront of our city, and how can we highlight art and artists everywhere?
