Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cat Meyer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Cat, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I didn’t always know where my path would lead and to be honest I still don’t know what lies ahead for me. But I’ve always felt this deep pull toward connection, healing, and transformation—both for myself and for others. My journey hasn’t been a straight line; it’s been a winding expansive road of self-discovery, filled with challenges that ultimately shaped who I am and what I offer to the world today.
It started with my curiosity about the human experience—how we navigate emotions, relationships, and life’s transitions. I’ve experienced my own moments of feeling stuck, questioning my worth, and searching for clarity. Along the way, I found tools that changed my life: restorative yoga taught me to listen to my body; hypnotherapy and subconscious work showed me how to shift limiting beliefs; and even launching Head South gave me the courage to talk openly about subjects often shrouded in shame or stigma.
Through all these experiences, one thing became crystal clear: my purpose is to help others navigate their own transformations. Whether it’s helping someone reclaim their pleasure and confidence through Head South, guiding them to subconscious breakthroughs with Meyer Magic, or offering the calm and restoration of yoga, it’s all connected. It’s about creating safe spaces where people can let go of what’s holding them back and step into a more authentic, aligned version of themselves.
I know what it feels like to doubt, to hesitate, to feel like the dream is too big or the risk too scary. But I also know the power of being seen, supported, and guided through that process. That’s why I do what I do. At the end of the day, my work is about helping people heal, grow, and thrive. It’s a privilege to witness their transformation and to play a small role in their journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Let’s start with Head South, my sexual wellness brand and podcast. Born out of my background as a producer in the haircare product industry and my passion for inclusive, comprehensive sex education that empowers people to embrace pleasure without shame, Head South is about more than just our products—it’s about permission. Permission to honor your body, reconnect with your sensuality and redefine intimacy on your terms. On my podcast, Head South Radio, I have honest, unfiltered conversations that break down stigma, explore human connection, and leave our listeners inspired to show up authentically in every area of their lives.
Then there’s Meyer Magic, my 1:1 intuitive guidance work. This is where I bring in tools like conversational hypnotherapy, magic mentoring, and intuitive reflection. Using these approaches, I help my clients access their subconscious to uncover the clarity, confidence, and direction they need to move forward. It’s like holding up a mirror to the parts of you that already know the answers—you just need help seeing them. My work is about giving my clients space to feel, to release, and to reconnect with their inner knowing, so they walk away feeling lighter, clearer, and ready to take action.
Which naturally leads to my work as a restorative yoga teacher. Yoga is where I first discovered the beauty of slowing down and holding space for myself. It’s an honor to now offer that to my students at Love Yoga in Venice and Child’s Pose in Culver City. If you’ve never tried restorative yoga, it’s the practice of radical rest—a chance to recalibrate your nervous system and invite more softness, presence, and healing into your life. I’m so excited to share this work and am facilitating a restorative yoga teacher training hosted at Love Yoga this January 17–19, 2025. You can find more details on their website. This training is open to yoga teachers, wellness practitioners, and students looking to deepen their understanding of restorative yoga.
I’m a Manifesting Generator in Human Design, which means I thrive when I’m doing all the things that light me up. Some might call it juggling; I call it alignment. My purpose is multifaceted and ever-evolving, and that’s what makes my work so unique. Whether it’s helping you rediscover your pleasure through Head South, supporting your personal breakthroughs with Meyer Magic, or guiding you into deep rest with restorative yoga, it’s all connected. It’s all about coming back to yourself.
At the heart of everything I do is a commitment to helping people move through stuckness and find flow—in their creativity, their relationships, their self-expression, and their lives. This work lights me up because I know what’s possible on the other side. And I’m here to help others get there.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back, I’d say the three most impactful qualities or skills on my journey have been intuition, empathy, and what I’d call visionary mapping—the ability to see potential and communicate a clear, actionable path forward, whether it’s for myself or for others.
Intuition has been my guiding light. It’s that quiet, inner knowing that helps me make decisions, even when logic or outside opinions might suggest otherwise. Trusting my intuition didn’t come naturally at first—it’s something I had to nurture. But the more I leaned into it, the more I realized how powerful it is in shaping the life I truly want, not just the one I think I’m “supposed” to have.
Empathy has been another cornerstone of my work. Being able to hold space for someone, really see them, and reflect back their emotions without judgment—it’s a skill that’s both innate and cultivated. Empathy creates connection, and connection is the foundation of everything I do, whether it’s guiding someone through a life transition, creating a product that addresses their needs, or simply having an honest conversation.
Finally, visionary mapping has been key. I have this ability to see the big picture and connect the dots, whether it’s for a creative project, a brand strategy, or someone’s personal growth. It’s about turning abstract ideas or feelings into something tangible and actionable. It’s a skill I honed during my years as a creative content producer, but it’s also deeply tied to my intuition and the way I see possibilities for others that they might not yet see for themselves.
For anyone early in their journey, my advice is to start small and be consistent. To develop your intuition, make time to get quiet—whether that’s through meditation, journaling, or simply being present with yourself. Learn to trust those gut feelings, even when they don’t make sense right away. For empathy, work on active listening—truly hearing others without rushing to fix or respond. And for mapping visions, practice breaking down your dreams (or someone else’s) into manageable steps. It’s one thing to dream big; it’s another to know how to make it real.
Above all, give yourself grace. Growth is a process, not a race. Stay curious, stay open, and trust that every step you take is teaching you exactly what you need to know.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One book that’s had a profound impact on me is The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. It’s one of those books that shifts the way you see yourself and the world.
The chapter that resonated with me the most was the one about limiting beliefs around time. Gay talks about how we often see time as linear and limited—something that’s always running out, something we’re always chasing. That perspective ruled my life for so long, creating stress and a constant sense of “not enough.” But Gay offers a completely different way of looking at time as something expansive and generative, something we can create rather than be controlled by. That idea completely reframed my relationship with time, and it’s something I still practice daily. Now, I approach time with more presence, intention, and freedom, and it’s been a game-changer for my creativity, my work, and my well-being.
I also had the honor of hosting Gay on my podcast, Head South Radio. One of the most impactful parts of our conversation was about codependency and how our dynamics in intimate and personal relationships can create limiting beliefs. This is another chapter featured in his book. It’s easy to let old patterns or fears in relationships become roadblocks to personal growth. But when we bring awareness to these dynamics, we open the door to not just grow individually but to create healthier, more expansive partnerships.
This book isn’t just about making “the leap” to a more aligned life—it’s about understanding the subtle ways we hold ourselves back and realizing that our limitations are often self-imposed. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s ready to stop playing small and step into their full potential.
