Hi Cathie , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I owe my strong work ethic to my dad, who has always been the ultimate example of dedication and perseverance. Growing up, I watched him work tirelessly, sometimes seven days a week, not just to provide for our family but to set a powerful example of what hard work and commitment truly look like. He was a provider and a leader in his workplace, demonstrating the importance of responsibility, integrity, and leading by example. His unwavering drive and determination have profoundly shaped my approach to life and work, instilling in me the values of perseverance and excellence in everything I do.

I am the Broker/Owner of CK Home Group, proudly serving Southwestern Michigan with a passion for helping others achieve their real estate dreams. Driven by a deep connection to my community, I actively support local initiatives and take pride in being a resource and advocate for those I serve. My ultimate goal is to ensure that every client has a seamless and memorable real estate experience, one they’ll want to share with family and friends. With a focus on personalized service and attention to detail, I strive to make the process as smooth and rewarding as possible, putting my clients’ needs at the heart of everything I do. Beyond that, my vision is to grow my business with like-hearted individuals who share the same goals of client care, community focus, and creating exceptional real estate experiences. Together, we can continue building a legacy of trust, service, and excellence.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three skills, qualities, or areas of knowledge that have been most impactful on my journey to date are strong communication, perseverance, and a commitment to continuous learning. Communication has allowed me to effectively connect with clients, colleagues, and my community, building trust and fostering solid relationships. Perseverance has been essential in navigating the challenges of the real estate industry and staying focused on long-term goals, even during uncertain times. Lastly, my commitment to continuous learning has driven me to grow personally and professionally, staying current with market trends and improving the client experience.
My advice to others on a similar journey is to, surround yourself with people you can learn from and who are like-minded.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful things my parents did for me were letting me be myself, teaching me a strong work ethic, and encouraging me to stand up for myself. They never discouraged me from chasing my dreams or trying something new, which gave me the confidence to pursue my passions without hesitation. Their belief in me and their example of resilience and hard work shaped who I am today. I strive daily to pass those same values to my children, allowing them to embrace their individuality, learn the importance of hard work, and know they have a voice worth using.
