Meet Catie McYeeeeeee

We recently connected with Catie McYeeeeeee and have shared our conversation below.

Catie , so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I’ve always been a confident person. My parents instilled that in me early on. I was a special, creative, talented kid, and as I grew into the adult I am now, I learned how to use those traits to build real confidence. That confidence translated into the way I speak, the way I move, and the way people connect with me. Listeners and fans felt comfortable watching me and listening to me because I was comfortable in my own skin and my own voice.

Being able to mingle with some of the biggest names in Northern California’s music and culture scene also gave me the chance to “pop my collar,” so to speak. Not everyone gets access to these legends or the opportunity to soak up their stories and experiences. That exposure definitely boosted my confidence even further.

But at the end of the day, I’m here for the underdogs. I want them to know I see them, I stand with them, and my platform is for them. My confidence is for them.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am an on air talent at an Internet radio station namedI am an on air talent at an Internet radio station named The 360 radio in California Sacramento to be exact the capital of California. I initially took interest in radio when I took a promotional job for a local rap artist out of San Francisco California. He needed help with flyers and tour management so I jumped right in in my late 20s back when “My Space” was the only SOCIAL ! My father was an arena manager and convention manager for many years so entertainment does not fall far from my family tree.

As I took on this promo endeavor, I decided to utilize these opportunities of receiving music that was very exclusive from the artists I met on the tour. These were songs consumers would not hear for many many months or even years and taking that to a radio style platform to give listeners a sneak peek of what the future had in store in the NorCal hip hop/music world ,that then morphed into interviewing these up and coming artists and any frankly any artist/business that had something to showcase locally, Especially the artist that the mainstream was not focusing on.

My On Air name is Catie McYeeeeeee as the word Yeee is a common phrase used in the Bay Area California when saying Hi or exclaiming excitement people would “Holla Yeee” so McYeeeeeee became a brand and quite a popular one. My thousands of interviews under my belt with people of all walks of life definitely attest to my experience in this industry, but the heavy hitting interviews are the ones of artists that don’t sit down with just anyone in this region. They’re very hard to get into their studio because of their either unique lifestyle or street activity in the real world outside of the music. The 360 Radio is a safe space for artists and we pride ourselves in our professionalism and etiquette. We even record at old radio buildings we have since we started. And this definitely adds to the aesthetic and genuine McVibe .

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The reason that I was very successful initially in this business is because I am a fan of the music so I know it front to back left right top to bottom so when speaking about the music, the passion definitely presents because it is my preference of what to listen to day in and day out The word I would use for that would be authenticity
. I authentically rock with these artists and this music/culture

Second would be determination. I would not let anyone else decide my fate so by working circles around other influencers and being present at as many local events /shows as possible this definitely raised my stock in the ranks of the hardest working culture enthusiasts.

Third I’m doing this for all the underdogs so pride I’m very proud of what I do and very proud of whom I represent.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?

Taught me the value of being authentic and hard working .

Doing what you love makes work not feel like work so it makes it so much easier to do and my parents taught me early to do things that made me happy. They supported everything I’ve ever done and still do and this allowed me to be creatively free to move the way I wanted to in this entertainment industry.

Thank you John and Linda as well as my sister Chris! Tara Mall Floss and #freejdiggs and #longliveblack
