We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cayla Spring. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cayla below.
Cayla, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I had to relearn how to feel confident—how to trust myself again, step by step. It wasn’t an overnight change but a process of unlearning self-doubt and replacing it with self-acceptance. I started by acknowledging my strengths instead of fixating on my weaknesses, setting small goals, and celebrating even the smallest victories.
I surrounded myself with people who uplifted me and let go of environments that made me shrink. I paid attention to the way I spoke to myself, replacing harsh criticism with encouragement. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, even when it felt uncomfortable, proving to myself that I was capable.
Most importantly, I learned to be kinder to myself, to embrace failures as lessons rather than proof that I wasn’t enough. Confidence wasn’t about never feeling insecure—it was about showing up for myself despite those insecurities. Over time, I stopped waiting for external validation and started believing that I was worthy just as I was. That shift changed everything.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I create content on TikTok and Instagram, focusing on fitness, self-care, travel, fashion, and skincare. I have a passion for reviews and helping others find what works best for them. While I love sharing small portions of my life, I also value keeping enough private to have my own little world. My goal is to inspire kindness and to encourage people to always lead with love. I believe no dream is too small—anything is possible with proper planning, goals, and the right mindset. The best version of you starts with your habits and never letting others define your worth.
Beyond content creation, I’m deeply involved in foster care, specifically fostering kittens through my local SPCA. It’s something that brings me so much joy, knowing I can provide love and care to animals in need. Traveling is another passion of mine—I love exploring new places and sharing my experiences to help others plan their own adventures.
What excites me most about what I do is the ability to connect with people and make a positive impact, whether it’s through fitness motivation, self-care tips, travel guides, or just reminding someone to believe in themselves. I want my content to be a place where people feel inspired, empowered, and supported. Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue growing, collaborating, and finding new ways to share my journey while helping others along theirs.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were:
1. You can never learn enough—keep learning: Knowledge is endless, and staying curious has been key in my growth. Whether it’s about fitness, self-care, or even social media trends, I’ve learned that the more I know, the more I can share with others. My advice to those early in their journey is to embrace learning at every step. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek new information, and be open to evolving your understanding. It’ll only help you grow.
2. Being kind to others—it always comes back to you: In both the content creation world and in life, kindness has always played a huge role. Whether you’re connecting with people online or in person, treating others with empathy and respect creates positive energy and opens doors. My advice is simple—lead with kindness in all situations. You never know how it might impact someone, and the ripple effect will benefit you in ways you can’t always predict.
3. Read Atomic Habits to build better habits: This book changed the way I approach my goals and routines. It taught me how small changes compound over time to make a big difference. My advice is to invest in building strong, consistent habits early on. Start small, stay committed, and trust the process. Atomic Habits is an excellent guide for understanding how to make lasting changes that lead to success.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One book that has played a significant role in my development is Atomic Habits by James Clear. The most valuable lessons from the book have shaped the way I approach personal growth and achieving my goals. Here are a few of the key takeaways that have been especially impactful:
1. The Power of Small Habits: Clear emphasizes that small, consistent actions lead to massive results over time. This idea helped me understand that success doesn’t come from huge, dramatic changes but from the accumulation of tiny habits practiced consistently.
2. Identity-Based Habits: One of the most powerful concepts was the idea of focusing on who you want to become rather than just what you want to achieve. Instead of just saying, “I want to work out more,” I shifted my mindset to, “I am someone who prioritizes my health.” This simple shift made a huge difference in how I showed up for myself every day.
3. Habit Stacking: Clear introduces the concept of linking new habits to existing routines. This made it easier to integrate new habits into my life. For example, after I make my morning coffee, I’ll do a quick stretch or skincare routine. It’s a simple yet effective way to create lasting change without overwhelming myself.
Atomic Habits helped me realize that transformation doesn’t happen overnight but through intentional, consistent actions. It taught me that the best version of myself would be built not by giant leaps, but by the little things I did each day.
