Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cecelia Mclaughlin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Cecelia, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from seeing my mother as a single mother growing up, working all hours of the day to provide for me. Her strength really inspired me not only to have a great work ethic but to want to overcome that lifestyle and get to a lifestyle of flexibility and over flow.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My brand- Inspired By Cece is my platform that I use to inspire people to find their identity in God. I do this by sharing my healing journey of overcoming financial hardship, mental illness, and substance abuse. What is most exciting about it is 2 years ago I quit a 6 figure job because God told me to. I felt He wanted me to be more available to Him and to focus on the projects I feel God was giving me to carry out. I have been doing faith-based fashion events for these past 2 years, which is called “For the Love of God.” Everyone thought I had completely lost my mind when I quit my job, but it has all been worth it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Easily the factor that was most impactful for my journey was aligning with my purpose in God. I have experienced so much as far as a luxury lifestyle, however nothing compares to Gods way. Once I aligned with Him, doors began to fly open. Things that exceeded even my greatest expectation for my life. My advice and recommendation is to try it Gods way!

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

God and my faith in God has been most helpful in overcoming challenges in life, and in business/entrepreneurship. When everything seemed to be falling apart in my life- it was my faith that kept me going because God has shown me time and time again that He is going to show up at just the right time. When those obstacles come I know and have experienced that it’s not by my strength but it is His fight and He has never lost a battle. When my father passed away suddenly of a heart attack last year, I fell back into a dark place but there was still a light shining that kept me. God is so good and faithful. I will continue to walk boldly in who He says I am and inspire/uplift people to do the same. Thank you so much for reading!
