We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Cee Tha Gxdd. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Cee below.
Hi Cee, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Well I’ve always been shy as a kid but in 10th grade I decided to join choir. I’ll never forget my choir/band director Mr. Steven Porter who pushed me to do a solo that year. After that show I was no longer afraid to sing in front of people.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As of right now I’m learning how to balance a music career with things going on outside that, like family. I’ll tell you it’s not for the weak. I’ve been working on this new project called “Heart of the Streets” #HOTS. It’s an album that only the streets and people who come from the same background would deeply understand. In this project I’m showcasing a part of me that I don’t usually show to the public. But I’m tired of feeling like I have to disguise my real life. So this album most definitely is one of my favorites.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Communication is a very important skill that you need to have in this industry. You never know who you’re really talking to and you most definitely don’t know who they know.. It’s important to always keep your face clean and handle your business. Determination is also a crucial skill you need to have if you wanna make it. Nothing happens overnight and one day you can have it all then the next day the hype gone. It takes a lot of determination and knowing your true purpose to stay afloat in this industry. One last skill it’s good to have is the ability to read any room, any crowd.. Even if you just with your friends still learn how to read that room.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my mother has done for me is just love me unconditionally.
