We recently connected with Celia Cox and have shared our conversation below.
Celia, thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us today. We’re excited to dive into your story and your work, but first let’s start with a broader topic that might be stopping many of our readers from pursuing their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. How have you managed to persist despite haters and nay-sayers that inevitably follow folks who are doing something unique, special or off the beaten path?
At a certain point, you need to let your ego drive. That’s what I had to do. I’ve faced many struggles as a business owner and have sometimes let the haters get in my head. But when I snap back to reality and remember who I am and what I’m capable of, I continue to accomplish all of my goals—and even add a few more. Letting my ego take the wheel, in the most humble way, allows me to keep proving everyone wrong with kindness, without feeding into hate
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

We also host a community hair-cutting event at Fresh Brewed Coffee House called Pop-up N’ Pamper, where we provide complimentary haircuts for those experiencing housing, job, and financial insecurities. Uplifting everyone in the community is very important to us.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Taking as many classes as possible in the early stages of your career is extremely important. A deep dive into Emotional Intelligence is crucial for developing effective communication skills. And last but not least, if there’s something you’re passionate about, find a way to do it!
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The 15 commandments of Conscious Leadership play a big role in my development.
Learning to be self-aware and understanding how it impacts those around you is crucial. Being mindful of yourself and your actions, and addressing them proactively, is extremely important. However, it’s also vital not to get lost in emotions. You must maintain a business perspective, keep a close eye on your numbers, and ensure that everyone is happy while working to uplift the business.
