Meet Celine Ramos

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Celine Ramos. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Celine below.

Hi Celine, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

From the support of my family and friends especially from my fiance. He pushed me to pick up the camera again and pursue photography. Another part is from my desire to grow both as an individual and as a photographer.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hello! My name is Celine and I am a photographer in Southern AZ. I had picked up the camera again after a long break and have been in the industry for about 2 years. When I started, I didn’t know what kind of photographer I wanted to be. So as any new photographer, I took pictures of anything and anyone to learn my gear and the editing software. With a help of our little photography community, I was able to figure out what my niche is . I knew I wanted to be a portrait photographer. I had assisted a photographer friend at a wedding and I knew I wanted to be a wedding photographer. I love the small moments and tears and the emotions that came with the wedding (minus the stress). I love capturing their raw, unfiltered emotions. I also wanted to be a boudoir photographer because there was just beauty in being vulnerable and naked. To me, I see that as a strength. The fact that one can show their vulnerability shows how strong you are as person. I love capturing the self love and the confidence when I do boudoir. Shooting couples is so much fun! I love the little quirks and affection they show one another. Boudoir is not always about being sexy, it’s part of it. But the biggest part is self love and confidence!

I am now booking for 2025 weddings and boudoir! Follow me on Instagram (cel.records), Facebook (LinCel Records Photography), TikTok (cel.records).

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

You don’t need the recent or expensive gear! Save. Your. Money! Buy a second hand camera from a camera shop or market place! I had bought my Sony A6000 with the lense kit at a local camera shop! Get to know your gear, how does it feel on your hands, learn the kit lenses. Learn the 3 basic of photography! (ISO, Shutter and Aperture). Learn the basics of Adobe Lightroom! (You only need Lightroom to to do your edits, photoshop is just used for cleaning up). Read the manual! The manual has so many information on your camera! Watch YouTube videos for tutorials No better way to learn until you get out there and shoot! Shoot at random objects, or people! Use friends and families! Find a photography community group and join. Photography is an investment on your gear and on YOU!

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

My number 1 obstacle is exposure and clients. Photography is a competitive field. Everyone wants the clients to book them and if you don’t have connections, it makes it more difficult. Going into this field, I was a little blind and dove head first. But don’t give up, keep shooting and be patient. Your ideal clients will come to you. Learn how to stand up for yourself and believe in yourself. There are people out their who would take advantage of you so learn how to say no. Learn what your boundaries are. It help me when I joined a photography community group. You can find them on Facebook. There’s plenty of them. I joined a couple of them plus I have a little group of my own.
