We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chad Brown. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chad below.
Chad , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My Dad.
One of my favorite stories about my dad and his work ethic comes from the morning of the biggest game of my high school football career— playing our annual crosstown rivalry, Pasadena high school, in a game called the Turkey Tussle. It’s a huge deal in Pasadena. We played in the Rose Bowl, and there’d be 15,000 to 20,000 people in the stands. It was basically the Super Bowl of local high school football.
So, the morning of the game—my senior year—my dad wakes me up and says, ‘Hey, you need to get out there and take care of the yard.’ I look at him like he’s crazy and say, ‘Dad, I’ve got the Turkey Tussle tonight!’ Without missing a beat, he says, ‘Yeah, that’s tonight. This yard needs to be taken care of today.’
That moment stuck with me. No matter how big something felt, no matter how hyped the day was, my dad made sure I knew: your responsibilities come first. That’s the kind of work ethic he lived—and passed on to me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I wear a lot of hats.
I split my time between running All Pro Shipping and talking into microphones and cameras — whether that’s calling a Texas A&M football game from the booth or breaking down the cultural impact of Deion Sanders on the modern sports landscape. Every broadcasting opportunity is a chance to inform, enlighten, or entertain — and sometimes, all three at once.
On the business side, All Pro Shipping serves multiple niche industries with unique and demanding shipping needs — including reptiles, aquatics, inverts, and plants. Yes… we put snakes on planes.
These are live shipments, which brings a very specific set of challenges. Every box contains a living creature, so the service must be express, with no delays — a late delivery can be fatal. Packaging is critical: thermal protection (via insulated boxes and the proper use of heat or cold packs), secure cushioning to prevent damage in transit, and overall structural integrity.
We’ve served world-renowned zoos, aquariums, research institutions — and the military mom just trying to get little Timmy’s turtle from Tennessee to Texas. From $125,000 albino alligators to $75,000 Galápagos tortoises to everyday pet trade animals, we’ve helped over 500,000 animals reach their new homes safely.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Hard Work
To quote the great rapper LL COOL J, “Hard work pays!” There has never been a time in my life when my hard work didn’t pay off. Sure, the results didn’t always come when I wanted or exactly how I imagined, but the effort was never wasted.
Every hour, every rep, every late night, and every early morning built something — skill, resilience, discipline. Hard work has always found a way to reward me, sometimes in ways I didn’t expect, but always in ways that mattered. It’s the foundation of every success I’ve had, on the field and beyond.
2. Be Flexible
During my 15-year NFL career, I played every linebacker position possible. Instead of telling the coach what I thought would be best for the team, I created value for myself by being willing to do what the team needed most.
I’ve applied that same mindset to broadcasting. Rather than sticking to one style or medium, I made it a point to learn them all — TV, radio, calling games from the booth, sideline reporting, pre- and post-game analysis, telestrator work, and interviews.
Flexibility creates value. The more roles you can fill, the more indispensable you become. Being willing to learn new skills and adapt to new challenges opens doors you might never have seen coming.
3. Be Humble
He who seeks knowledge begins with humility. It’s impossible to truly learn if you approach every situation with an “I already know this” mindset. Real learning often means failing a few times, listening more than you speak, and embracing the fact that growth comes from discomfort.
Humility allows you to listen to learn, not just to respond. It makes you open to feedback, willing to adjust, and ready to absorb lessons from anyone — teammate, coach, colleague, or competitor. When you approach life with humility, you remove barriers to progress and make room for wisdom to grow.
Final Thought:
Hard work lays the foundation. Flexibility expands your opportunities. Humility ensures you never stop growing. Master these three, and you’ll be ready for whatever the game — or life — throws your way.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
If I knew I had only one decade left, I would work hard to make an impact on others. Impact can be made and felt in many ways.
Impact on my family would come first — in the quality time we share, the life lessons I pass down, the deep conversations that matter. I’d spend time in the kitchen with them, cooking meals and passing along recipes, because food has a way of connecting generations. I’d write one of those “fill-in-the-blank” books so they could know my story — not just my accomplishments, but my thoughts, my struggles, my dreams.
Impact on those around me would come through kindness and grace. I’d want to be the person who listens without rushing, who takes the extra moment to connect. A handshake, a hug, a word of encouragement — small gestures that leave a lasting mark.
In the end, I’d want my last decade to be measured not by what I achieved for myself, but by how I made others feel, how I lifted them up, and how I left the people and places I touched better than I found them.
