We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chad E. Mitchell a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chad E., really appreciate your meeting with us today to talk about some particularly personal topics. It means a lot because so many in the community are going through circumstances where your insights and experience and lessons might help, so thank you so much in advance for sharing. The first question we have is about divorce and how you overcame divorce and didn’t allow the trauma of divorce to derail your vision for your life and career.
By the grace of God, I overcame the sting of divorce and the adversity that rose against me. What tried to break me only pushed me deeper into the Word. What was meant to poison my spirit became fuel for my calling. I didn’t survive because I was strong, I survived because God is faithful.
There was a season when bitterness stood in my face, accusations flew against my name, and unrest tried to shake my peace. But every time the enemy raised his voice, the Lord raised a standard. Every time a weapon was formed, the Word reminded me it would not prosper. The power of God guarded my mind, restored my confidence, and kept my heart soft when circumstances tried to turn it hard.
I learned that healing isn’t found in retaliation, it’s found in revelation. Revelation that my identity is not defined by someone else’s anger. Revelation that my future isn’t written by someone else’s bitterness. Revelation that no season of loss can cancel God’s calling on my life.
Through prayer, fasting, and standing firm on Scriptures like Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all”, I saw God deliver me, protect me, and establish me. What felt like an ending became a doorway into a better beginning.
Today, I walk in peace, purpose, and power, not because the journey was painless, but because God used the pain to promote me, my Wife Nenniccia Mitchell, and our ministry. I am proof that the Word still works, the Holy Spirit still comforts, and God still takes what was meant for evil and turns it for good.
I overcame because He carried me. I stand because He strengthened me. And I live free because His truth outshines every bitter lie spoken against me. To God be the glory.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
At the heart of everything I do is a simple mission: love God, love people, and set the captives free in Jesus’ name. I carry a pastoral calling rooted in compassion, truth, and a deep desire to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel. Whether I’m preaching, teaching, counseling, or creating, my goal is always the same, to help people encounter Jesus in a real and life-changing way.
One of the things I find most exciting about my work is watching God breathe life into places people thought were dead. Seeing hope return to broken hearts… witnessing people discover their identity in Christ… watching families rebuild, minds heal, and faith ignite, that’s what keeps me moving. I’m not just leading a ministry; I’m watching a movement rise where grace meets grit, where faith meets action, and where purpose is awakened.
Diplomat Legacy Church is more than a church, it’s a community of believers committed to kingdom work, evangelism, spiritual development, and practical impact. We’re seeing people walk through our doors and encounter God in ways that reshape their entire lives. And the exciting part? We’re growing. We’re expanding our reach, deepening our ministries, and launching new ways to pour into our city and beyond.
Some of the newest developments include:
1. The Diplomat Immunity Podcast: a raw, real, Spirit-led platform where we talk faith, culture, purpose, and victory without filters.
2. New sermons and teaching series, including messages birthed from seasons of adversity, obedience, and restoration.
3. Community initiatives and outreach that meet people where they are and bring them into wholeness.
4. Expanding digital ministry, with online teachings, video content, and more.
5. Our brand-new ministry website: www.diplomatlegacy.org, where people can connect with the church, watch messages, give, stay updated on events, and tap into resources designed to help them grow spiritually.
Everything we do flows from a desire to represent the Kingdom with excellence, integrity, and boldness. My brand, my calling, is built on the conviction that Jesus still saves, still heals, still delivers, and still restores.
If there’s one thing I want readers to know, it’s this, Your story isn’t over. God can rebuild anything you submit to Him. I’m living proof, and our ministry is committed to helping others experience that same redemption. To God be the glory for every step, every victory, and every open door.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back on my journey, there were three qualities that truly shaped who I am today and anchored me through every season, especially the difficult ones.
1. Unshakeable Faith
Faith wasn’t just something I preached, it became the foundation I had to stand on when life tried to knock me down. When adversity, betrayal, or loss came, faith in my Lord Jesus kept me rooted. It reminded me that God’s promises outweigh people’s opinions, attacks on my character, and that every trial carries purpose.
Advice:
If you’re at the beginning of your journey, build your faith intentionally. Spend time in prayer. Stay in your Bible. Surround yourself with people who speak life, not confusion, Negativity, and philosophical ideas that contradict the living word of God. Faith doesn’t grow by accident, it grows by hearing the word of God. Discipline, devotion, prayer, and fasting assists also.
2. Emotional Resilience
Ministry, leadership, family, the devil and life itself will test your emotions. I had to learn how to process pain without letting it poison my purpose. Emotional resilience kept me from collapsing under pressure and helped me keep my spirit soft even when situations were harsh. God gives a supernatural endurance to this whom are grounded in faith. He never let me down, he never will. I am a living testimony that Jesus has a personal investment paid for with his life, in every human ever born, and he spends a persons lifespan trying to get a full return. He’s amazing. Selah.
Advice:
Develop resilience by being honest with God and yourself. Don’t suppress your feelings, surrender them. Seek wise counsel. And remember, healing is not a sign of weakness; it’s a sign of wisdom. The stronger your inner spirit becomes, the stronger your outer impact will be in your family, community, and the world.
3. Vision and Purpose Clarity
Once I understood who I was in Christ and what I was called to do everything else found its place. Purpose kept me focused when distractions surrounded me. Vision kept me moving when life and satan tried to stall me. Clarity made it easier to say no to what wasn’t God and yes to what was.
Advice:
Give yourself the time and space to seek God for vision. Write down what He shows you.
Protect your purpose like it’s treasure because it is. The earlier you embrace who you are called to be, the quicker you’ll stop wasting energy on what you’re not, others expectations of you, and self inflicted nonsense.
IN ALL THREE AREAS:
faith, resilience, and obedience to the word of God, the key is intimacy with God. Everything I’ve built, everything I’ve overcome, and everything I’ve grown into happened because I stayed close to Him. If you’re early in your journey, don’t rush the process. Let God shape you, strengthen you, and prepare you. What He builds in you privately will sustain you publicly. Stay faithful, stay teachable, and keep walking forward in the name of Jesus. God will do the rest.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Yes, I am absolutely open to partnering and collaborating with individuals and organizations who share a heart for Kingdom impact. Collaboration isn’t just a strategy to me, it’s a biblical principle. God designed ministry to flourish through unity, diversity, and shared purpose.
I’m interested in connecting with people who carry excellence, integrity, and a passion for helping others encounter Jesus. That includes:
• Faith-based creatives: videographers, designers, musicians, writers, and content creators who want to build God-honoring media.
• Community leaders & nonprofits: those committed to transformation, outreach, healing, and serving families.
• Ministry partners & pastors: individuals who want to build together, share platforms, support community initiatives, or join in revival-oriented work.
• Entrepreneurs & business: professionals, those with skills in leadership, tech, branding, or logistics who want to support Kingdom expansion.
• Intercessors, evangelists, and ministry volunteers: people who feel called to serve, pray, and help push the mission forward.
If you have gifts that advance the Gospel, strengthen communities, or empower people, there is room for partnership.
How to Connect:
For anyone reading this who feels led to collaborate, partner, or explore creative ministry opportunities, the best way to connect is through our brand-new ministry website:

There, you’ll find contact information, ministry updates, digital resources, and opportunities to serve. Whether you’re near or far, there’s a place for you to connect, contribute, and make a difference.
My heart is simple: if God has placed purpose in you, and that purpose aligns with advancing the Kingdom, let’s build together. Unity multiplies impact, and I believe God is raising up voices, gifts, and partnerships for such a time as this.
