Meet Chad Green Bey

We recently connected with Chad Green Bey and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chad, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my knowledge of G_d. Knowing that my creator gave me the strength and will power to have dominion over Earth gives me the ability to recover from setbacks. I have felt like quitting many times but I could never stop being who I am designed to be. The more you surmount numerous challenges, the easier it becomes to maintain mental fortitude in adverse challenges. The challenges may not get easier but keeping a level head and a keen-eyed approach to solutions makes getting through them seem less burdensome. I was raised to have a focused work ethic ensuring whatever job I begin gets completed.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Currently in my journey I am an music artist, producer, engineer, and overall creator. I am a visionary who loves to peer into the future. I create sounds that bring you to my life in Houston. My message is freedom and to each his own. There is room for us all to love one another. This is the foundation that my art is built upon. Over 10yrs of going from studio to stage working with some of the greatest teams of people to produce wonderful music that is a gift to be able to create. Now in addition to building my own brand and producing my own music under my company Royal Vibe Studios. I am a studio manager at Wayne Street Live Studios in Fifth Ward Houston, Texas as well. There we are finishing up renovations and installing new gear. I will be releasing more music myself and with collaborators this year. I plan to do both an instrumental album and an artist EP/album.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I think the three most impactful qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that I possess are 1. Always being a curious learner. 2. Being focused enough to complete tasks over long periods of time. 3. The ability to be flexible and notice when something is not working and why it is not working. In my opinion self awareness is key. Know what areas of self improvement you need to develop for yourself. The earlier you can also develop the skill of having the discipline to change any negative habit about yourself into a good one will always breed success. Sometimes things take a while to play out but the signs are always there for what the result will be good or bad. If your are getting good signs, most likely your results will be good. If you are getting not so great results, you may need to change your approach or you may not have been making effort for long enough.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

My mentors, elders, associates, family, and friends have been most impactful. I tend to build villages and teams wherever I go and it is always a collective of people accomplishing any great work. I remember early in my teenage years me and my young friends learning how to work on roofs in the summer with my dad and some of our neighbors.
