We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chamie Townsend, CFP®, AAMS™, CRPC™. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Chamie below.
Chamie, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
As an only child, I was a mix of stubborn will-power and non-stop curiosity which I believe is the great foundation for the start of a live of creativity. Add in a set of parents who instilled life-long learning, critical thinking, and pursing areas that cultivate my God-given talents, this child grows confidently into natural creative adult from engineering concepts to poetry and photography. The ability to group up to understand and embrace my authentic curiosity bred creativity which is ultimately what entrepreneurship is about. I keep my curiosity alive because I am curious and working to understand and learn as well as challenge the status quo in all aspects of my personal and professional life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
At the end of the day, I am using my God-given talents to help make the world a better place through creating a firm that creates financially confident people thru comprehensive financial planning and investment management. We love partnering with our clients over the years to help architect and help them build a solid financial house to reach their wealth goals in a time where these concepts are not taught but often learned by hap and stance or though unpleasant experiences (job loss, illness, pre-mature death, divorce, etc.,) The exciting news is that Elevated Wealth has expanded in office space as well as team members as we continue to group to service our ideal clients. We are respectfully disruptive in an old money world that craves personalized services and collaborative technology in financial planning. We deliver this all why demystifying complex concepts and strategies that can aid in client’s financial goals. Oh, and we love what we do and create a family-like environment along the way. We know our relationships are built to stand the test of time.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
This is a great question and often personal evolution that drives some people to becoming ultra-successful are because of the following three areas:
1)Focus
2)Discipline
3)Consistency
I was blessed to learn these things early in life because my parents lead my example and instilled these in me. You work before you play outside and you have a schedule to allow more freedom. As a young adult in my career, I did these subsciously, but it wasn’t until later in life that I identified them over a serious of years.
I recall my best friend having a conversation about being competitive and it wasn’t until then that I realized that I am not competitive with others but with myself. This focus, almost hyper fixation, on what I am doing allows me to complete what I set out to do (or if I fail, go back to the drawing board and readjust my focus). Focus is the foundation for journey to become a Founder & CEO of Elevated Wealth.
Next, I would say is discipline because things take time and we have short attention spans. Gradual change and progress on milestones lead to goal completion and finishing the project at hand. I would say that my engineering degree helped plant the seed for this type of thought process. Discipline is about doing the things that need to be done despite not wanting to them, but it is necessary to get the results that we need.
Lastly, what ties it all together is being consistent or creating those healthy habits that allow you do things out of muscle memory that leads to goal completion and success stories. When I go the gym 5-6 days a week during the same times, it is easier to not have to think about it because it is a consistent part of my focused discipline.
When we learned to use these three things together, it is a power combination that leads to an addicted amount of success which creates more freedom and reduced stress. It is hard work, but it reaps amazing benefits for both personal and professional aspirations.

How would you describe your ideal client?
