Meet Chanice Kyei

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chanice Kyei a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Chanice, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
Residing in Atlanta fuels my optimism as I strive to build a career as an aspiring loctitian. This city overflows with possibilities and invaluable connections. In a world dominated by social media marketing, I’ve successfully garnered a significant portion of my clientele through these platforms. Embracing daily optimism, I trust in the path that God has laid out for me. Additionally, the dynamic combination of location and connections significantly enhances my positive outlook.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My natural hair business provides essential services like loc retwist and caters to the specific needs of individuals embracing their natural hair texture. This holistic approach not only ensures well-maintained locs but also promotes the overall health of my clients’ hair. It’s a great foundation for building a brand that prioritizes the health and beauty of natural hair. Most of the products that I use on my clients are oil and/or water based this ensures that the client will not have issues along the line with build up in their locs. The most exciting take away from my business are the live and written reviews I receive from clients, it assures me that I’m in the right field.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The skills that make me stand out the most are my hair expertise, client relationship building and social media marketing. Hair expertise is one of the most important aspects of being in the beauty industry it is so important to know your target clientele and their hair type. Knowing your clients’ hair type will help you offer the correct services, order the right tools and hair products. Building relationships with your clients is a skill that can grow over time it helps to build trust and understanding between myself and the person I’m servicing. I focus on being friendly, honest and informative, that goes a long way with clients. Social media marketing is all about consistency and knowing your target audience. The key to social media marketing is learning that you have to apply yourself and understand how each social media website operates so that you can use it in a way that brings business to you.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is someone that has an open mind , values natural hair care, appreciates personalized services and engages with me on my social media platforms.
