Meet Channell Royal

We recently connected with Channell Royal and have shared our conversation below.

Channell , thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

My self-discipline was built through seasons that tested everything I thought I knew about myself. It started in 2015 when I ran my first business, Channell Naturally Royal, traveling from home to home doing women’s hair. That work taught me how to manage time, energy, and excellence – even when I was tired.
However, the real discipline came later, when I had to rebuild after dissolving that business while continuing to work my full-time job. Healing from surgery, finding my voice again, and learning to trust God required a different kind of consistency – one that had nothing to do with hustle and everything to do with faith.
Now, my discipline comes from alignment. It’s rooted in peace, not pressure. It’s choosing to show up for myself daily – in wellness, in structure, and in purpose – because I’ve learned that who I’m becoming deserves that level of commitment.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a Certified Life Coach and founder of Coach Me Royally, where I help high-performing women build consistency, structure, and peace around the woman they’ve become. My coaching focuses on intentional living – helping women who are successful on paper but struggling privately to stay aligned with their purpose, priorities, and wellness.

What makes my work special is that it’s real-life coaching, not theory. I’ve lived the burnout, the reinvention, and the healing that comes from starting over. So, when I work with women, we don’t just talk about goals – we rebuild the habits and rhythms that keep their lives steady.

Through my coaching programs and my membership, The Complete Her I teach women how to plan intentionally, care for themselves without guilt, and stay disciplined in their faith, health and business. It’s not just about success; it’s about sustainability.

Right now, I’m in the midst of expanding my focus into the wellness space with really the basics of flexibility and mobility for women over 40- showing that vitality and movement are part of self-leadership too! Everything I do connects back to my core value system L.I.V.E by Faith – Legacy, Interaction, Vitality, Exploration, and Faith.

My goal is simple: as someone who overachieved for years, it’s to help women stop managing life and start living it – with structure.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

If I had to narrow it down, the three things that really shaped my journey are self-awareness, consistency, and surrender.

Self-awareness was my game-changer. I had to stop asking “What’s next?” and start asking “Who am I now?” Once I got honest about what fit and what didn’t, I stopped forcing things and started flowing in purpose. My advice? Don’t rush clarity. Learn your patterns, your triggers, and strengths – that’s where your real power is.

Consistency came when motivation left the chat. I didn’t always feel like showing up – not for the gym, not for coaching, not even for myself sometimes – but I learned that consistency builds confidence. It’s not sexy, but it’s solid.

And surrender? Whew. That one took faith. I had to stop trying to control the outcome and trust that God knew what he was doing. My advice to anybody early in the game: you can grind, but don’t forget to grace yourself. The pace still counts even when it’s slow.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

When I feel overwhelmed, I don’t do anything. I take time to take a break, and I walk away for a while. When I don’t feel overwhelmed anymore, I start with a fresh brain dump.
