Meet Charisse Piros

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charisse Piros. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Charisse, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
Overcoming imposter syndrome is different for everyone. I think internal reflection and introspection help you tap into that answer. Once I tapped into why I felt like an “imposter” I was able to change the negative self-talk in my head with affirmations and mirror work. Affirmations effectively change the negative soundtrack telling you what you can’t do. YOU can!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
My name is Char and I’m a lifestyle blogger. My blog, Call Your Sister, focuses on relationship advice, self-love, and being true to yourself. My mother Via and I created our first blog post in 2021 and since then have developed a YouTube Channel and an active social media presence. We are a mother/daughter duo to empower other women by sharing our real-life experiences, promoting self-care, and encouraging positive relationships. Via and I want to be the sisters you “call” on for laughs, advice, and love. Our beautiful online sisterhood celebrates life’s highs and supports each other through the lows by cultivating a space for women to feel safe, uplifted, and loved. My mom and I love sharing our stories and connecting with our Call Your Sister family. We just celebrated three years of blogging and have an upcoming rebrand of the My Sisters’ Closet online store. We are excited to grow our sisterhood and looking forward to what the future will bring! Don’t forget, you can always Call Your Sister!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My thirst for knowledge, resilience, and creativity. My advice is to learn everything you can about being a business owner. In my first year, I enrolled in business courses, webinars, etc. I soaked up knowledge like a sponge and it helped me build the framework for my business. Networking is very essential. You are going to have less than stellar days and when that happens you need a tribe that can lift you, give you advice, and celebrate your joys together.

We’ve all got limited resources, time, energy, focus etc – so if you had to choose between going all in on your strengths or working on areas where you aren’t as strong, what would you choose?
I think it’s best to maintain a delicate balance between showcasing your strengths and investing time in your weak spots. Learning keeps your business alive and focused. Taking time to learn new skills has expanded my knowledge, enhanced my confidence, and given me the freedom to be more independent.
