Meet Charles & Candice Mintz

We recently connected with Charles & Candice Mintz and have shared our conversation below.

Charles & Candice, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

This is a great question. It took me some years to really, confidently say that I have found my purpose. For a long time I toyed around with what my purpose could be, but as we’ve gone through the relaunch for the brand and working with the team, I finally realized my purpose is to show others that your past doesn’t define you. I’m living proof, that it’s never too late to rewrite your story, change to the person you want to become and inspire others. I truly believe that is my purpose.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is Charles Mintz, along with my wife Candice we run IAC Lyfestyle (Intelligence And Confidence) a streetwear/activewear brand. We have been in existence since 2020 but recently relaunched this year after a brief hiatus. The premise of the brand is all about rewriting your story and not letting your past keep you stuck there, we’re living proof that change, growth, and overcoming obstacles are possible. This is our main focus, however, Candice also runs her own makeup/nail business. I also record music and have an EP planned for release with a great friend of mine for this summer, as well as the relaunch of our podcast.

We have plans to do a few product launches this year in regard to the apparel which will compliment what we have released already. Candice is also, always accepting new clients.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

For myself, one quality that has helped me along the way has been having an outgoing personality and being personable. I’ve never been afraid to go out and speak to people and put myself out there. Being open to constructive criticism, as well as seeking guidance from others who have done what we’re trying to do has also been crucial. My best advice is to put your ego aside and never stop learning, don’t be afraid to ask for help, and always try to bring something to the table.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?

This is a great question, that I believe can go both ways. I think going all in on your strengths can be huge in helping drive things forward so as long as you have other people in places to keep things running smoothly. On the flip side, I believe investing in other areas can also be beneficial as it gives you knowledge in other areas you may not have been very strong in so at least you have an understanding of it. For me personally, marketing was an area I lacked greatly in. So I started looking into courses I could take to help gain some more knowledge and learn some of the ins and outs, I also started listening to more podcasts and watching youtube videos that are centered around this as well.
