We were lucky to catch up with Charles Hardy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Charles, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My work ethic comes from my mom 3 hours before she died of cancer. Her last wish to me was to build my community up, and make it a better place for everyone.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I was born and raised in Athens Georgia. I have 6 siblings; in which I’m the middle child. I started an non profit organization in 2015, working with our youth population & our homeless community. The most exciting part of doing what I do, I actually see a change I’m making. I was able to start a project called 1st Step in Athens Georgia; where as giving our homeless Community off the streets & putting them in a safe place. In less than a year, the program became a success. Getting so many homeless people jobs & a place to stay. Some was even able to get into rehabilitation centers, or back with family members. My goal is to 1 day have this program all over the State.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Being able to counsel any & all individuals from all walks of life. Also having a degree in Business and Customer Service helped in other areas. If you choose to take this approach in the Community, be sure to meet people where they at. As we like to say: “Boots On The Ground”.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to collaborate with anyone that has an passion for this type of work. It’s an Community effort, & the work is much easier when you do it as a Team. They can always connect with me through all social media platforms, or email me at: [email protected]
