Meet Charles Ivy

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Charles Ivy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Charles, we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.

Facing mental health challenges is a grievous personal journey of mine. For the better part of my life, I have struggled with mental health issues. It has often made me feel fraught with the obstacles and uncertainties I face. My ability to navigate this path with resilience demonstrates the strength of the human spirit. My story of resilience may offer hope and guidance for others facing similar challenges. That said, every mental health journey is unique, involving a complex interplay of emotions, experiences, and coping mechanisms. While the challenges can feel overwhelming, my story of how I have persevered offers a powerful reminder that healing and growth are possible. I thank God every day I’m here. The reason is that I shouldn’t be here today writing about anything, but I had a moment this year when a Guardian Angel came and saved me. I didn’t know her, but she saw I was struggling on the third-floor patio of my apartment, called for assistance from authorities, and intervened.

While my story and struggle regarding mental health issues is nothing new, many living out in the world with mental health issues are still struggling today. That said, another reason mental health is so important to me is because I lost a good friend a year ago to mental health issues. He was a bright shining star, and the darkness around him consumed his light, heart, and mind. Every day, I think about him and his wisdom; he would speak to me about it. We both understood each other, and it didn’t matter what time of the day or night it was; if the phone rang, we both picked it up because we both knew shit was about to hit the fan, so to speak. There isn’t a day that passes that I don’t think about you, Nate; you are loved and missed. I wish I could have noticed the signs and done something more to help you. So, if there is anything you take away from this message, it is that if you know someone struggling with mental health issues, get involved and talk to them and see if they need anything and call for help.

For all these reasons, I have been persistent in my mental health journey through my reignited belief in God and Faith while steering clear of substances that alter my ability to be me and think for myself. In my spirituality, I have found freedom from the aches and pains my mind carries. One of the most significant factors in overcoming my mental health challenges is having a strong support system. Whether it’s family, friends, or support groups, the presence of understanding individuals can make all the difference. For example, I have found my serenity and strength in a community that offers “Experience, Strength, and Hope,” helping me foster a sense of connection and understanding while never judging me and always offering tools that help.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Hello Readers! My name is Charles Ivy, and I’m the CEO & Founder of EnvyInk, Inc. Looking at me professionally, you’d like to know what this guy is doing. So would I. I’m all over the place! That said, I focus my efforts on my corporation, EnvyInk, Inc.

EnvyInk, Inc. is a Houston, Texas-based marketing agency specializing in visually compelling and brand-centric design solutions. This harmonious collaboration results in designs that captivate and communicate effectively.

Additionally, I’m the Ranch Foreman at Bucking Bull Ranch and a Marketing Manager for The Journeyman Coffee Company. Professionally, I get excited about these experiences I have now because I’m not a typical 8-5 man. I’m the type of individual who constantly strives to live each day better than the day before because we are only promised today. Therefore, I wake up at 5 am and head out to the Ranch at 6 am to feed the livestock for the day. Afterward, my energy goes toward marketing coffee because, let’s face it, coffee is delicious. Who doesn’t start their day off with coffee? Exactly!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

When I reflect on my journey today, these four qualities have made me better at navigating personal relationships and business. One, don’t be a nice guy. Be a good man. Being a nice guy got me walked over repeatedly by individuals who took advantage of me. Two, be a good listener and communicator. Third, don’t judge another individual because you have no idea what they might be going through.

Last of all, keep learning something new daily. Life is full of experiences; we’re all trying to make the best of ourselves and leave our mark. Be stoic in your words and have resilience because there is a lesson in everything we do.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?

Today’s number one obstacle is a Trademark issue with my corporation name, EnvyInk, Inc. An individual attempts to appropriate my corporation name, EnvyInk, Inc., through a Pending Trademark with the [USPTO]. I’m consulting with a legal firm to understand my options for resolving this matter. My corporation, EnvyInk, Inc., is special to me. I created the name in 2008 and incorporated EnvyInk, Inc. in April 2021. The feeling I have because of this obstacle is unreal. In my opinion, it’s an ambush of my right to do business, and I want the attack on my corporation to stop so I can continue to earn a living with EnvyInk, Inc., which I labored diligently to create. While nothing is guaranteed with legal matters, I am hopeful that it will be God’s Will and I prevail so I can continue to work humbly and offer my services.

Looking ahead, EnvyInk, Inc. is committed to pushing the boundaries of design excellence. By staying ahead of industry trends and continually refining our approach, we aim to offer even more innovative solutions to our clients. Our forward-thinking mindset ensures they remain at the forefront of the design industry. If you want to transform your brand’s visual identity and make a lasting impression, EnvyInk, Inc., is ready to help you achieve your goals. With our expertise and dedication, your brand can shine brighter than ever.

In closing, I’d like to thank Bold Journey Magazine for the opportunity to share my story with readers and all the wonderful readers for taking a moment out of their day to read about me and my corporation.
