Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Charlett Albert. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Charlett, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I was 16 when I did my first presentation that made me never want to speak in front of others again. When I started my presentation a girl broke out in laughters the moment I started speaking. I turned red, sweated profusely and cut the presentation short to just run out of the room.
Finding confidence was not an easy journey, as I struggled with shyness and a lack of self-assurance all my childhood and teenage years. I was always worried what others were thinking of me to a point of being afraid to simply say “hey, I am Charlett”.
One pivotal moment in my journey was when a friend gifted me a book at age 18 by Louise Hay titled “You Can Heal Your Life.” This book opened my eyes to the power of positive affirmations and self-love, laying the foundation for my self-esteem to flourish. I would listen to affirmations every day when walking to school. And something within me started to shift.
After graduating school I took a gap year and lived in Australia for a year. I traveled and picked fruits and vegetables for living (my english was so bad at that point that that was the only job I could find. I also really enjoyed being outdoors and connecting with other backpackers from around the world.) This experience allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and embrace new challenges, further strengthening my sense of self-worth.
My very first boss after graduating college recognized my potential and encouraged me to step into roles that required public speaking. Through her guidance and support, I was able to overcome my fear of speaking up and find my voice. This transformation ultimately led me to pursue a career as an educator and sales trainer for a luxury skin care company, where I honed my public speaking skills and gained confidence in supporting spa professionals sell their products and services with confidence.
Today, as a sales coach, I am passionate about empowering others to find their own voice to confidently share their message with the world. I understand the importance of standing up for what you believe in and owning your unique identity.
It’s been a full circle moment and I am so grateful for everyone who believed in me before I was able to belief in myself.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’ve always been fascinated by human potential. What else is possible if we just trust and take massive action towards our desires? I believe we can easily change our reality if we so chose.
I started in corporate training & development as an educator and sales trainer for a luxury skin care company doing daily trainings for spa professionals at the Ritz Carlton, Four Seasons and the Omni Hotels among others.
I loved teaching esthetician how to sell a $500 skincare cream without feeling salesy. My simple methods allowed them to tap into their genius, amplify their confidence and certainty in who they are and with that sell luxury items with ease.
When I left corporate as a new mom to be with my baby I started my online business. I started with selling wellness products online by going live on FB making 6 figures in year one.
In 2022 I created the HIGH IMPACT METHOD which helps women entrepreneurs create a simple sales process to sell their offers consistently without having to be “on” all the time.
We focus on 3 elements: sales, marketing and embodiment (owning your genius to amplify your confidence and certainty)
In the last 5 years I have helped over 100 women entrepreneurs achieve their financial goals, break sales records and live a life they love.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I love this questions, because I think about this a lot. For me it would be
1) Networking – Understanding how to build valuable connections on and offline is critical for every business owner. By building a strong network, you can access new opportunities, resources, and support that can help you grow your business and achieve your goals. If you are new in business make it a goal to network weekly or even daily on social media and online/in person networking events.
2) Communication – We often communicate but very few understand how to connect and relate to others. The better we understand the power of words the more success we will have. Clear and concise communication also helps prevent misunderstandings, conflicts, and avoid costly mistakes. Ultimately, being a good communicator allows a business owner to lead their team effectively, make informed decisions, and drive the growth and success of their business.
3) Sales – I always say that sales is the oxygen of your business. Being good in sales is crucial as a business owner because ultimately, sales drive revenue and profitability. Without strong sales skills, a business can struggle to generate the necessary income to cover expenses, invest in growth, and ultimately thrive. Good sales skills also lead to higher customer satisfaction and loyalty, which can result in repeat business and word-of-mouth referrals. As a business owner, being able to effectively sell your products or services is essential in order to compete in the market and achieve long-term success.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love connecting with other female founders from around the world. Every week I am hosting a free networking call on ZOOM open to all women entrepreneurs that want to connect & collaborate. Many of the ladies have come together to run short programs or challenges together, got podcast or guest speaking opportunities and became each others client or mentor.
I believe there is so much magic that happens when good hearted women come together to connect and support each other.
One of my favorite collaborations is The Rebel Movement Membership that me and 3 other incredible business mentors launched this year. It’s the most incredible platform for female founders to become visible through the network and other visibility opportunities and learn the skills to build a business their love their way.
