Meet Charnise Love Jones

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Charnise Love Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Charnise Love below.

Charnise Love, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

From an early age, my family instilled in me the belief that all things are possible with God’s help. I embraced this philosophy wholeheartedly and allowed it to guide me through life. With unwavering determination, I pursued my goals, trusting in my abilities and the vision I held in my heart. Despite not always having all the details mapped out, I pressed forward with confidence, driven by a sense of purpose.

Growing up in a Pentecostal church presented unique challenges, including being thrust into the spotlight to sing and speak before large crowds. Rather than succumbing to fear, I confronted it head-on, allowing these experiences to shape me into a more confident and capable individual. When I entered college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career as a speaker, so I focused my studies on communication. This decision transformed my world, allowing me to merge my passion for speaking with a desire to inspire and uplift others, particularly young adults.

Throughout my journey, my family has been my steadfast support system, always encouraging me to pursue my dreams and aspirations. They never doubted my abilities or attempted to deter me from following my heart. Their unwavering belief in me instilled a sense of confidence and resilience that continues to guide me to this day.

One pivotal moment that reshaped my perspective occurred when I expressed a desire to speak to Mary Mary, a gospel duo. Despite feeling intimidated by their celebrity status, my grandmother reminded me that “They’re just human like you. The only difference is they sing on a stage,” This revelation shifted my mindset, allowing me to see influential figures as peers rather than idols. It bolstered my self-esteem and empowered me to confidently reach out to work with individuals who could help further my career.

Ultimately, my self-esteem and confidence were nurtured at home, where my family poured love and support into me. Even during moments when I let doubt & fear set in, they remind me of my worth and potential. I’ve learned the importance of surrounding myself with positive influences and rejecting negativity. By embracing this mindset, I continue to navigate life’s challenges with strength, determination, and unwavering faith.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Hey Love Jones Crew,

I go by the name of Char Love Jones! I am a faith-based entertainment executive producer and the CEO of Love Jones Productions, my love child I founded in 2019. I’m the co-host of the unSAID Truth radio show that airs on SiriusXM Ch. 140, for a Christian radio station called Dafixx. While in college back in 2017, I began my journey as a multifaceted photographer, capturing various events while exploring my niche. Often, I’d finagle my way into concerts and celebrity gatherings, even sneaking into the Oakland Warriors parade after their 2017 Championship win, claiming affiliation with Love Jones Photography – gotta love those tactics, right?

As I focused on my brand, Love Jones, I envisioned it blossoming into a full-fledged production company, capable of creating TV shows, hosting live events, and establishing a nonprofit to empower youth. I knew my brand’s potential surpassed my wildest dreams.

As my relationship with God deepened, He revealed that my business would serve as a vessel for kingdom-centered entertainment. From that moment on, every idea, and every creation became a tribute to amplifying God’s glory. This divine revelation birthed Love Jones Enterprises, home to Love Jones Productions and my clothing brand, YOU FOR GOD.

My focus and vision are dedicated to advancing God’s kingdom, just as fervently as other industries push their agendas. I swiftly learned that the entertainment industry wasn’t all it appeared to be. So, I turned to God, expressing my desire to align with Him in all my endeavors. Since that pivotal moment, I’ve been continuously astounded by the experiences God has blessed me with in the industry. I once feared missing out due to deviating from societal norms, but God revealed that His way leads to unimaginable Success, Peace, and Joy.

Love Jones Productions’ mantra, “A Story Worth Telling,” embodies my mission to provide a platform for those outside the limelight to share their unique narratives. Often, the stories of everyday individuals go unnoticed, yet they possess profound impact, capable of reaching thousands or even millions if only given a listening ear. That’s the essence of Love Jones Productions.

The manifesto of YOU FOR GOD brand, “YOU ARE FOR GOD + GOD IS FOR YOU,” encapsulates a lifestyle dedicated to acknowledging that God is for us, regardless of our past mistakes, YFG aims to honor God. In 2019 before the pandemic, God gave me the brand’s logo, at that time I was a middle school teacher. “That job was crazy within itself, like who would let me teach their children lol, I was one of the cool teachers btw”. YFG emerged during a period of uncertainty on my faith journey, this is my ministry serving those grappling with similar struggles. I believe God entrusted me with this clothing line to minister to individuals navigating their spiritual journey, just as I once did.

I’m genuinely excited about what God has in store for my future endeavors, and I eagerly anticipate how I can continue to minister to the next generation through my work.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My three top qualities are curiosity, persistence, and tenacity. Possessing these traits has been instrumental in navigating the industry. They’ve taught me when to pivot in the face of rejection and when to push relentlessly to accomplish tasks, especially when working independently. However, I’m still learning to strike a balance. It’s crucial not to appear overly eager, as it might convey a willingness to compromise integrity to achieve goals.

For those just starting, I advise creating lists outlining your “Why,” “Mission,” “Non-negotiables,” “Integrity,” and “Morals.” These lists serve as guiding principles, helping you stay true to yourself and your beliefs amidst challenges. Having a clear sense of identity enables you to recognize toxicity in the industry and walk away from situations that don’t align with your values swiftly.

Remaining authentic in a world that often promotes conformity is essential. Don’t conform to societal norms; staying true to yourself is the best defense against losing your identity. And trust God when a door closes there are many more awaiting for you to open them.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?

My greatest area of growth has undoubtedly been in my spiritual life. For me, this journey has involved dedicating more time to God and learning to discern His voice. In the past, I was so fixated on molding myself into what I thought was necessary for advancement in my field that I neglected to listen to God’s guidance. I eagerly pursued opportunities, even if they didn’t align with my purpose, simply to be part of the spotlight. I lost sight of who I truly was, grappling with internal conflicts between worldly success and living a life dedicated to Christ. It was a constant struggle, torn between the desire for recognition and the call to walk in faith.

As opportunities dwindled, I found myself repeatedly questioning God, wondering why doors weren’t opening as they once had. His response was clear, “He was shielding me from paths I thought I wanted, paths that would ultimately lead to pain and disillusionment”. I had to learn some hard lessons the hard way, realizing that my attempts to pursue my own path only brought suffering. I often reflected, wishing I had listened to God from the start, knowing it would have spared me much heartbreak and pain.

It wasn’t until I reached the end of myself and surrendered to God, that’s when true transformation began. Though the journey wasn’t instantaneous, there were many setbacks and moments of doubt I had. I discovered that my obedience to God’s will was the key to my lasting fulfillment, I learned I had to trust His timing, even when His plans were hidden from my understanding. Embracing the uncertainty, I found solace in immersing myself in His Word, seeking to understand His heart and His intentions toward & for me (Jeremiah 29:11). Trusting God wasn’t always easy, but I’m elated I did! My walk with God is an ever-evolving journey for me.
