We recently connected with Charvin Clark and have shared our conversation below.
Charvin, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My work ethic deprives from my Grandfather Frank Clark. Ever since I was young I’ve watched him work nonstop. And while he was working, not one complaint came from his mouth. He knew what needed to be done. He knew that his family’s life depends on him working. So that is who I grew up imitating. The hardest working man I know.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an actor from Fayette, MS. A small town near the Mississippi River. I’ve always wanted to be an actor. I remember telling myself that I would love to make people “feel”. Rather it be happiness, sadness, or love. I wanted to be the reason for that. Acting is special to me because I get to step out of myself and become something totally different. This is my passion. This is my dream. And everyday I’m studying trying to be the best at what I have dedicated my life to. My journey continues….
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My ability to study people and analyze their body language and facial expressions has enhanced my acting ability. Another skill that was impactful to me is “the art of listening “. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn by doing so. Me being knowledgeable of myself has given me space to step out my box. The best advice I can give is to stay determined and driven. There are other people who want to do what you do so you have to work hard. Really hard.
