Meet Chavon Anette

We recently connected with Chavon Anette and have shared our conversation below.

Chavon , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my faith in God. As a kingdom business owner and leader, God is the source of my strength, wisdom, ingenuity, innovation, and creativity. I can withstand some of the most difficult challenges because I understand that I am not on this journey alone. Since he has given me the vision, he has given me the ability to conquer everything that comes as hurdles on this journey. Even when I am tired or weary, I remember that I must continue because the work that I am doing is bigger than me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Many people do not know, but my journey started in 2017 by writing a blog. It was called the Life Blog. It started a journey called “New Beginnings with Me.” The purpose of the blog was to provide faith-based encouragement to men and women on this walk with God. Later, I would go live and talk about the blog that I wrote. It was fascinating to me because the ministry was always on my radar, but business was not on my radar at all. I never had a desire to step into the field of entrepreneurship because it was not something that I had seen in my family. My trajectory was higher education and a job that I would retire from. I earned the degree, and I started working as a teacher. It was fulfilling for a little while, but after my third year of teaching, God drew me to entrepreneurship. I had no idea that becoming a Life Coach was about to take me on a journey that I would never have imagined. After 6 years of teaching, God called me off of my job. It was a huge leap of faith; however, it was a clear word from the Lord. God provided for me, and after I transitioned into purpose, God opened up the door for a position at Regent University where I serve as the manager of the coaching team. I am a full-time job, lead in ministry, and a business. God is helping me juggle it all, and in 2024 God is preparing me for greater expansion, which I believe he is doing for many.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey have been vision planning, collaboration, and good character. One of the most essential things for any leader or business owner is that they can cast vision. To cast vision, there must be clear vision. As a leader, one must constantly assess and reassess the alignment of work that is being done with the overall vision. Then, collaboration has been a quality that I have had to embrace. I am more of an ambivert, which means that although I love being around people, I find comfort in being alone at times. Collaboration is so important. You don’t just want people to find you, but you should be willing to connect with others as well. I have connected with many wonderful people through collaborations. Finally, good character is so necessary as a leader and business owner. Things happen that will trigger you. Instead of using those triggers as a means to run or allowing you to self-sabotage, allow them to reveal your growth opportunities.

For those who are just beginning, prioritize self-care. Find a way to build in a way where there is a beautiful flow. Many business owners learn later that they have to find ways to dial back the load they are managing. Instead of starting in a hurry, work to build a pace that is just right for your lifestyle. Allow leadership and entrepreneurship to fit into your life well. This does not mean you will not get tired at times, but your routine will help you to navigate and respond well.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am always looking for people to collaborate with as a leader and business owner. The people I love to collaborate with are those who are passionate about leadership, faith, business, coaching, women’s empowerment, and strategic planning and development.
