Meet Chaz Russ

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Chaz Russ a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chaz, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
My grandmother. 100%. She was a woman who not only worked hard, but someone who appreciated the value of a dollar and had tremendous pride of ownership. She worked full time as a secretary and on the weekends would sell her wares at Englishtown flea market. Working in all the elements ( sweating in the muggy Jersey summers and then sweating beneath insulated underwear in the cold winters) she measured her success, not only by how much money she’d make, but by the happiness expressed in her customers. I now do the same – if I can help one person help themselves, changing their life for the better, then I did well. My grandmother used to say “that was a good deed done” when she felt that sense of accomplishment . Now years later, long after she’s passed, I find myself saying the same thing out loud at the end of a long day ” Good deed done, Chaz. ” 🙂

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
It is my sincere joy leading people to discover ways in which to live their best and most successful life, all the while making the esoteric spiritual journey much more accessible and FUN! I’m considered a Master Teacher of 20+ years, International Transformational Retreat Leader, and Yoga Coach for Athletes, My popular bicoastal classes, sold-out retreats, and On Demand offerings are known for their life-changing results. A true Jersey Girl and celebrity yoga teacher, I believe yoga should not be serious, as life is difficult enough. Simply, I help people help themselves, and they have one helluva good time in the process.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
It’s important to live the questions, rather than fixate on having or seeking the answers. Have patience with yourself. We’re all just learning and growing.
Love yourself where you feel most broken.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
Having been a people pleaser my whole life and now a recovering perfectionist and aspiring “good enoughist,” the language of boundaries is currently my biggest challenge. Learning to say “no” in an effort to say “yes” to myself and MY dreams and goals has been particularly difficult – but I know it’s the only way toward a happier and more fruitful life.
