Cheery, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

I strongly believe that everyone is unique and has special talent to do things different from others.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Post retirement, I picked up painting as a hobby. My main interest is creating portraits, and I have always been curious about why every person has the same basic facial features, yet looks so unique. This has sparked my interest in painting portraits, as I try to uncover the mystery behind what makes each person’s face so distinct.

In addition to portraits, I enjoy painting landscapes. During my travels, I have captured many photographs that serve as inspiration for my landscape paintings. I find translating the beauty of nature onto the canvas a fulfilling experience.

Other than portraiture and landscapes, I also have discovered a knack for painting pets. I love creating portraits of my friends’ beloved furry companions, and then gifting those pet portraits to the owners. My friends are always impressed and touched by this personalized and thoughtful gesture and I draw great joy from seeing their reactions.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Persistence, Patience and Hard Working are three qualities which help me achieving my goal.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

I have an elder mother that I need to take care of. Often I find myself fighting for time to do art works. The way I overcome this challenge is that I concentrate only one thing at a time. When I am at my mother’s apartment, I pay full attention to my mother and try to take good care of her. While I am painting, I try to concentrating on my work, and not thinking of anything else.
