We were lucky to catch up with Chef Benjamin Leggitte recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chef Benjamin, really appreciate you joining us to talk about a really relevant, albeit unfortunate topic – layoffs and getting fired. Can you talk to us about your experience and how you overcame being let go?

Back in 2020 I was the lead chef at the hilton in dallas and when the pandemic happened I ended up losing my job and I had to work at amazon to support my self after that I quit amazon and started my own private chef company.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

So I am the chief executive officer /celebrity chef of my company the Chef Benjamin brand LLC based in Dallas,TX
My company specializes in upscale private chef services.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Some of the most important skills along my journey I would say would definitely be my culinary knowledge ,my ability to multi task alot of responsibilities at one time and time management.

My best advice would be to constantly stay consistent.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

Definitely just take a step back and breathe and analyze everything to make sure my day to day operations are running smoothly.

My advice would be to make sure your taking care of yourself.
