Meet Chef Lowell

We recently connected with Chef Lowell and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Chef, appreciate you sitting with us today. Maybe we can start with a topic that we care deeply about because it’s something we’ve found really sets folks apart and can make all the difference in whether someone reaches their goals. Self discipline seems to have an outsized impact on how someone’s life plays out and so we’d love to hear about how you developed yours?

My family has a strong work ethic and my ultimate desire has always been to do the best at what I do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My career really began when I started my own business at 14 with a desserts. I then started catering at 16 years old. And then in college, while interning with a celebrity chef, I was introduced to the private world of cooking for celebrities.

Years later, I started my own company, Chef Lowell LLC, where we offered meal prep for multiple families and started catering for those on our meal prep service. The demand became great around 2013 and that’s when we decided to become a full-service meal prep and catering company.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I would say continuously learning and expanding my skills like trying new dishes, combining different types of foods, and fine-tuning knife skills.

Another would be not to shy away from trying new things. For example, doing an event for 200 people even though I didn’t have the man power, I would say yes and figure it out. Lastly, committing to the process and understanding that the process takes time. My advice would be to remain a student to the craft and focus mainly on the fundamentals of cooking.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

It’s called Life has been…there’s not one particular person who has contributed to my success. Life and my whole journey – who I’ve met for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
