We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Chelle Njiva. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with CHELLE below.
CHELLE, thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from my roots and my faith. Growing up in Zimbabwe and later navigating a new life in the U.S. meant constantly adapting, learning, and rebuilding. I’ve faced moments where I had to start from scratch whether it was moving to a new country, rebuilding after setbacks, or redefining my purpose when life took unexpected turns.
Resilience, for me, isn’t about never falling; it’s about always getting back up. I’ve learned that every challenge is a refining fire, and I don’t fear the fire anymore, I let it shape me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Spreading the Word: My Journey, My Work & My Mission
At my core, I am a transformational life guide, speaker, founder, and entrepreneur. My mission is simple: to help women say yes to themselves, unlock their fullest potential, and step into the life they were truly meant to lead. I am here to speak life into other women so that they feel empowered to do the things that inspire them.
I lead this mission through my brand, my platforms, and my work, which spans empowerment, wellness, fashion, and personal transformation. Each of my ventures serves a unique purpose, but they all exist under the same umbrella; to help people move from stuck to unstoppable.
The Empowered Life Mentor Academy:
Through The Empowered Life Mentor Academy, I coach, guide, and empower women to take control of their lives, transform their mindset, and step into leadership. It is not just about motivation; it is about transformation, structure, and real, tangible results. This academy was born out of my own journey from navigating self-doubt, career shifts, and identity struggles to ultimately designing a life that aligns with my purpose. Now, I help others do the same through private mentorship for deep, personal transformation, group coaching cohorts for community-based growth, speaking engagements and workshops at universities, conferences, and retreats, and holistic wellness and leadership integration to ensure success in all aspects of life. The academy for me is about helping women unlearn limitations, rewrite their inner narratives, and step into a life they are proud of. With this as well is the podcast series launching in February to allow more of these transformational tools to be accessible to everyone.
ShopFemmeProsper:
I am also the CEO and Founder of ShopFemmeProsper Wellness/FemmeProsper, a holistic wellness and lifestyle brand dedicated to empowering women through activewear, community, and transformational wellness experiences. I created ShopFemmeProsper because I wanted to build a brand that did not just sell products but supported a lifestyle of confidence, prosperity, and empowerment. The brand reflects the essence of being powerful, feminine, and purpose-driven. ShopFemmeProsper offers activewear and leisure essentials designed for comfort, movement, and empowerment. We are expanding into wellness spaces and boutique gyms through retail partnerships and hosting community events and pop-ups that bring women together for wellness, growth, and connection. ShopFemmeProsper for me is more than clothing; it is a movement for women who are done playing small and are ready to take up space.
Author in the Making: My First Book is Coming (shh)
I am also working on my first book….without giving away too much yet, this book is the roadmap for every woman who has ever felt stuck, lost, or afraid to fully step into her power. It is about breaking free from self-doubt, conditioning, and fear and making the one decision that changes everything; saying yes to yourself. I cannot wait for the world to read it.
Why I Do What I Do: The Bigger Mission
At the end of the day, everything I do comes back to one thing: empowering women to step into the life they were truly meant to live. I know what it feels like to live in survival mode, to feel stuck between who you are and who you are meant to be, to wonder if you are too much or not enough at the same time, and to watch other people thrive while feeling like you are standing still. I also know what it feels like to finally break free. To say yes to yourself in a way that shifts everything. My mission is to help other women step into that same power. Through The Empowered Life Mentor Academy and podcast, I teach women how to change their mindset and lead with purpose. Through ShopFemmeProsper, I give them the tools to embody their power. Through my upcoming book, I provide them with the roadmap to transformation. Through my speaking, I amplify the message that every woman deserves a life she is proud of.
This is my life’s work, and we are just getting started.
What’s Next: Events, Expansions & Big Moves
The Empowered Life Mentor Academy is expanding with more coaching, more workshops, and more live events. ShopFemmeProsper is growing, with new retail partnerships and influencer collaborations. My first book is in the works, set to be a transformational movement in itself. I am also stepping into more live speaking engagements and tours, bringing empowerment directly to women worldwide.
I am beyond grateful for this journey, for the community I get to serve, and for the impact we are creating. To anyone reading this; if you have been waiting for a sign to say yes to yourself, this is it. Your journey to an empowered YOU starts now.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Three Most Important Qualities, Skills, and Areas of Knowledge That Shaped My Journey
Looking back, there are three fundamental qualities and skills that have been most impactful in my journey: Radical Self-Belief, Adaptability, and Visionary Leadership. These have shaped every aspect of my career, from building my personal brand to launching The Empowered Life Mentor Academy and ShopFemmeProsper, stepping into my role as a speaker, and writing my first book.
1. Radical Self-Belief: The Foundation of Everything
One of the most powerful things I have ever learned is that nobody will believe in you the way you believe in yourself. Radical self-belief is what allows you to take risks, pursue unconventional paths, and keep going when nobody else understands your vision.
For years, I played small, waiting for external validation, doubting whether I was truly “ready” to step into my calling. But the truth is, you will never feel fully ready. The most successful people in the world are not the ones who wait for permission, they are the ones who decide to bet on themselves.
Advice for Developing Self-Belief:
Keep promises to yourself. Every time you follow through, you build self-trust.
Surround yourself with people who expand your vision, not shrink it.
Speak to yourself the way you would speak to a close friend; kindly, encouragingly, and with certainty in your potential.
2. Adaptability: Thriving in the Face of Uncertainty
The ability to pivot, evolve, and adapt is one of the greatest skills you can develop. Life and business are unpredictable; opportunities will shift, plans will fail, and unexpected challenges will arise. Your ability to embrace change instead of fearing it will determine how far you go.
My journey has been full of unexpected pivots; moving countries, shifting career paths, and completely redefining my purpose multiple times. What I learned is that success is not about having the perfect plan, it’s about your ability to keep moving forward, even when the path is unclear.
Advice for Cultivating Adaptability:
Let go of attachment to a single outcome. Success often looks different than you imagined.
Learn how to fail forward. Every setback carries a lesson.
Stay curious and open to new ways of thinking, working, and leading.
3. Visionary Leadership:
A visionary leader is someone who sees what does not yet exist and moves as if it already does. Every major decision I have made whether it was building The Empowered Life Mentor Academy, launching ShopFemmeProsper, or writing my book was based on a vision of something bigger than me.
You do not have to have a title or a team to be a leader. You are a leader when you decide to take responsibility for your life, your impact, and your purpose.
Advice for Developing Visionary Leadership:
Ask yourself: What would my highest self do today? Move from that place.
Build resilience. Leadership requires making bold decisions, even in the face of uncertainty.
Serve others. The best leaders do not just build success for themselves they create opportunities for others to rise with them.
Final Thoughts
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone early in their journey, it would be this: Trust yourself, embrace the pivots, and hold the vision even when nobody else can see it yet. Success is not about luck or talent, it is about how willing you are to say yes to yourself, again and again, until your reality catches up with your vision.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
There have been many books that have played a significant role in my development, but one that stands out profoundly is “The Surrender Experiment” by Michael A. Singer.
This book shifted the way I approach life, success, and personal growth by introducing a radical yet deeply freeing concept: stop trying to control every outcome and instead, surrender to the flow of life.
Key Nuggets of Wisdom That Changed Everything:
“Life is always working in your favor, even when it doesn’t seem like it.”
This was a game-changer for me. There were moments in my journey where things felt like they were falling apart, but in hindsight, they were actually falling into place. Learning to trust the process instead of resisting it allowed me to step into the life I was meant to live.
“Your mind is not the problem, your resistance to life is.”
We spend so much time fighting against what is; worrying, overanalyzing, trying to force things to go exactly how we planned. But real freedom comes when you learn to let go of that resistance and flow with life instead of against it.
“Say yes to life, and life will open doors you never imagined.”
This resonated deeply with me because it mirrors the entire message of my own book. The more I said yes to opportunities, to challenges, to stepping out of my comfort zone; the more my life expanded in ways I never could have predicted.
This book helped me lean into trust, surrender, and alignment; three principles that continue to shape how I build The Empowered Life Mentor Academy, ShopFemmeProsper, and every aspect of my journey. It is a book I would recommend to anyone who feels like they are constantly pushing, controlling, and striving but still feel stuck. The moment you learn to surrender, you step into a life of flow, ease, and abundance.
