We recently connected with Chelsea Eilts and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Resilience, for me, doesn’t come from getting it “right” or fixing what’s broken. It’s born from facing my shadow—the messy, imperfect parts of myself—and choosing to live without turning away from them. It’s about honoring where I come from, the pain and struggle that shaped me, while relentlessly pursuing the vision, the art, and the dreams that inspire me.
My journey to resilience started in my twenties when my health collapsed while I was overworking to pay my way through school. I spiraled into two years of disability, consumed by fatigue and pain. It felt like the person I once was—driven, ambitious, and alive—was gone, replaced by a shell of my former self. Doctors couldn’t give me answers, and I was left to navigate the chaos on my own.
At my lowest point, I accepted my pain. I stopped fighting against it and simply sat with it. That moment changed everything. Slowly, seemingly by chance, I encountered healers and mentors who helped me understand what was happening. I began to rebuild—not just my health but my connection to my deepest self.
This resilience is what I reflect in the medicine I practice. I believe healing is not about perfection but integration. It’s about learning to embrace our brokenness, our beauty, and the becoming that lies between. Resilience is the courage to move forward even when it’s hard, trusting that the process will lead to wholeness.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a naturopathic doctor, Chinese medicine practitioner, and functional health expert, my work is rooted in helping others reclaim their vitality and resilience. My passion for medicine began when I was young, but my career path changed profoundly after my own health crisis. That experience shaped me into the healer I am today—a wounded healer who understands the power of transformation firsthand.
I’m the founder of Resilient by Nature, a high-touch functional health program designed for people ready to heal deeply and reclaim their energy. The program blends the wisdom of ancient traditions with cutting-edge science to restore balance to the body, mind, and spirit. What makes it truly unique is its comprehensive approach: we integrate functional lab testing, nervous system regulation, hormonal balance, cellular detoxification, and custom lifestyle protocols.
What excites me most is the transformations I see in my clients. It’s one thing to help someone feel better physically, but it’s another to watch them rediscover their passion and purpose. That’s what drives me—helping people not just heal but thrive.
To make this knowledge more accessible, I now host free monthly masterclasses on Instagram, each focusing on a foundational aspect of health and resilience for other healers and creatives. These classes dive into topics like sleep, hormonal balance, and nervous system regulation, offering actionable strategies anyone can use to begin their journey. They’re a great way for me to connect with a wider audience and share tools that have transformed so many lives.
For me, my work is about more than health—it’s about empowering others to live authentically and vibrantly. I feel honored to guide people on their journeys and to share the tools that transformed my own life.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three things profoundly shaped my journey: radical self-responsibility, a connection with nature, and functional health knowledge.
Radical Self-Responsibility taught me to reclaim my agency. Healing began when I stopped waiting for external solutions and took ownership of my choices and habits.
Advice: Start small. Commit to one change—better sleep, mindful eating—and build from there.
Connection with Nature reminded me of the wisdom we carry within. Nature’s rhythms guided me to balance and helped me reconnect with my intuition.
Advice: Spend time outdoors or bring nature into your daily life. Nature reflects true balance—it holds a divine aliveness we can tune into and learn from. Just as the earth transforms toxicity into new life, it can vitalize and inspire in unexpected ways.
Functional Health Knowledge allowed me to address root causes, not just symptoms. This understanding transformed my approach to health.
Advice: Invest in learning about your body—whether through trusted resources, courses, or practitioners. Knowledge is a key to empowerment.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
Dr. Michelle Rogers, my first coach, stands out as a pivotal influence. I’ve worked with incredible teachers and mentors around the world, but having a coach was transformative in a completely different way. Coaching provided the kind of personal support and accountability that helped me see my blind spots, navigate challenges with clarity, and truly step into my potential.
For me, coaching hasn’t only been about nuts-and-bolts guidance—it has been a catalyst for growth. My experience with Michelle inspired me to keep investing in support systems that align with my values and goals, and it’s something I encourage others to consider. The right support can be THE bridge between where you are and where you want to go.
